    5.0 vs LS1

Yep, I agree totally. So I don't get what the big deal is if some of us have a high reving screamer and don't want a diesel Mustang.

    5.0 vs LS1

Ok? I would probably hate running around with 460rwtq @ 1,700rpms like you guys seem to love and have your power fall off at 5,000rpms. I think Ford has a good deal on some 08' Super Dutys for you guys.

    5.0 vs LS1

No.... Yes... I'd like to throw in the fact that you can make 650+rwhp on the stock 351 block rather than around 500rwhp in the 5.0 block. That is why I mainly would go to a 351 block. I'd much rather build a big bore 363 over a 410. But thats just me... :D

    5.0 vs LS1

I have 4.30 gears and less weight. I definately doubt you would pull away from me anywhere. I don't need torque, I have gears. Read back on my build posts, this was covered.

how much psi should i run?

    I made 480 with 8psi in the stock 302

    edelbrock vs cobra

The RPMII intake would be a good intake for any combination as long as the runners match up to the heads smoothly.

    edelbrock vs cobra

I say do it. Its a GREAT intake and even though your combo isn't best suited for it, it will not lose power. Plus you will be able to grow into this intake.

    5.0 vs LS1

I don't race anyone at 3,000rpms or below so I see no point in all that torque at 2,000rpms unless you plan to pull your mobile home with your car.

    5.0 vs LS1

It works great. The people that say the car has no low end torque don't know what they are talking about. I've got over 315rwtq by 3,000rpms.

how much psi should i run?

I've actually witnessed a Fox body with probably 700-800rwhp on a bone stock motor lasting for a good while. Finally the block did split. By myself along with everyone else thought he was full of it and had a Dart or mexican block with internals. I believed it up until I helped him pull the...

Turbo kit finished!!! But so is the head gasket too i think

Very true. I didn't catch that his tune was off. Why would you even give the car 1psi of boost if the tune isn't done? :nonono:

Turbo kit finished!!! But so is the head gasket too i think

Lifted head = blown gasket And that has nothing to do with the tune

Turbo kit finished!!! But so is the head gasket too i think

Um no he doesn't. The stock type felpro gaskets are fine and infact a good idea. I would rather pop a gasket than a piston. What he does NEED are a set of head studs.

    I want MAXIMUM POWER!!!!

This is why I always tell people to figure out what you want out of the car before you go spending money. It helps save money that you don't have to spend twice and it allows you to get to your goal the best way hopefully. Example... "Hmmmm I'd really like a mid 10 second car, but I have to...

how much psi should i run?

If its going to take you a couple years to afford a rebuild then I suggest not putting boost towards your motor. And you will still lift the heads with the ARP head bolts.

    5.0 vs LS1

^ I cant imagine what size hood you would have to run to make that intake work. Looks more designed around the Cobra R intake. The key to making good power out of a 5.0/5.8 is to get rid of that traditional 180* bend intake. Well that is if you want to make power above 6,000rpms.

how much psi should i run?

Why do you guys think the hyper pistons will explode at a certain power level? Geez at some of the crazy advice given in this section... The pistons will be fine and will last just as long as any forged ones will as long as you don't detonate. The rods also will be fine. This is why everyone...

how much psi should i run?

Run whatever pulley it takes to get your car around 450rwhp. That would be the max I would say. Remember it takes power to run a blower. Also you might want to look into head studs. With head bolts I lifted both heads off the motor with only 8psi of boost. :D

    Thinking about this setup

That is a horrible combination IMO. Your best bet would be to look for some used AFR heads or Trickflow twisted wedge heads. Get you a Edelbrock RPMII intake and have Jay Allen grind you a camshaft once you have everything. I had Jay grind me one when I had a stock shortblock and the car cammed...
