    1/2" Cam designer said the polylock is most likely binding with the rocker arm (a problem you run into when lift is above 0.550" with Comp Cams Pro-Magnum rockers). I will check the other polylocks tomorrow.

    I measured the amount of stud in the polylock and it was about 1/2" in and 7/16" threads engaged (it did break where the threads just started to engage). Too little?

    Mystery solved (snap a 7/16" rocker arm stud when idling???). I'm glad I don't have to tear the motor apart, but I will have to replace all rocker arm studs. This is on a Canfield 195 head, but I don't know what rocker arm studs they put on their heads.

    The long tube headers I have used positioned the primary tubes to allow the z-bar to go though or mount in between them.

    How is that piece attached...spot welded, plug welded, lap weld? I know it's always an unpleasant surprise to find majorbody work on our classics, but judging from your pics I've seen a lot worse (one example is in my driveway).
