    Lots of Mods....HP Guesses?

The outlet on the Vortech is 63mm and so is the discharge tube throughout its length. Using a 65mm TB will keep the flow transition smooth and velocity constant. The 70MM TB will act as a diffuser dropping pressure and slowing the flow, bigger is not always better. I will take a look at...

    Lots of Mods....HP Guesses?

Over the next two weeks I will be doing a lot of work to my brother-in-laws 89 5.0. In January I put a SQ S-Trim, C&L 80mm, and 42s on it. Otherwise it is completely bone stock. The car made 305RWHP and 334RWTQ. What do you guys think she will make at the wheels with this long list of parts...

I think they stopped giving out coupon codes a few years ago but I wanted to check before I make a big purchase. Thanks -Brent

    Horse Power is King

I agree with everything you said 90mustangGT. I am just making the point that it is not as black and white as everyone makes it out to be. And the statements like "HP sells car and torque wins races" are just not true. Just a little food for thought. -Brent

    Horse Power is King

I have not posted around here in a while but I just finished up my engine design class and I thought I would stir things up a little bit. I hear people say HP sells car and torques wins races and you can tell them otherwise. Well here is proof. Horse Power is King! About the cars...

Fav Year Fox Body and Why?

I picked 88, second year of the FOX so some bugs are worked out. Last year of SD so they are fast as hell stock. My heavily modded 91 is only a few tenths faster in the 1/8 then my brother-in-law's 88 coupe with only 3.73s.

    Computer Question

Yeah normally it would but the car has been wrecked and the code is not there. I just was wanting to know so I could get a jump on the bin file but if I have to I can wait and pull the computer.

    Horsepower Estimate, for the Pros

290-310RWHP and 340 to 360RWTQ depending on how well the custom chip is tuned. With similar mods, no tuning, and 6psi from a Vortech SC-trim my car made 304RWHP and 347RWTQ.

No Need for Aftermarket Shifter after this Mod !!

It makes the force wet? Sorry I had to say it. :) FWI:It damps the force. Really though the real point of an aftermarket shifter is the shift stops to prevent transmission damage. But I am glad you like the improved feel.

    vortech s-trim

The stock bottom end is holding up like a champ. The ole 5.0 really likes the boost. I have seen a 150000 miles short block hold 15psi for about 20000 miles and even then nothing was wrong the owner just wanted more power so it was time for a 331. I say go for it.

    vortech s-trim

With a completely stock motor you are looking at between 300-310RWHP with 10psi and a good tune. If you take a look in my sig the old setup was a stock long block with every bolton and a Vortech SC-Trim at 6psi. Adding a Steeda #19 cam, porting the heads, and going to 10psi got me to the new...

    Data Logging Software?

I just got a laptop for my birthday and I am looking for data logging software for the ECC-IV. I already have the ability to write and burn chips, so I don't need anything like TwEECer. Anyone know of any good software? Thanks Brent

4 grand for this?!?! (pics included)

I had very similar damage, if not a little worse done to mine about 2 years ago. One piece of advice, don't get a junk yard bumper. It is cheaper to buy a new Ford bumper from a dealer and have it painted than to buy a used bumper and have it stripped and painted. Or better yet where the...

    FTI cam idle problems

A friend on mine has a FTI custom cam in his 95 Cobra. The cam in barely noticeable at idle. When he installed it the only thing he change was the cam, and he had very big idle problems. After much work, the car he got the car to idle, but it would shut off at random. Ed Curtis gave him the...

    Removed distributor... problems!

Set the number one cylinder to TDC and place the distributor to fire on number one. This will get you close enough to start the car then you can set the timing from there.
