    BumpSticks . . .

Like Nick said, the springs are cheap insurance and I would swap them regardless. For the purposes of passing smog, I would stay with a mild cam and good tune. It's a crap shoot regardless, but the more aggressive cams are obviously going to make it tougher to pass emissions. The lopey idle...

    retiming the 4.6

There is an excellent article by Keith (phatdoggy) on modulardepot.com that should help you time the engine. Go to the homepage and click articles. Jay

    dyno results..should i fix this

I would never run a car this lean - he's way too lean at low RPM. If it was good for the car to run above 14.64:1 at WOT, the manufacturers would set them up to run that lean at part throttle - better emissions. It's just not safe, even though it's not detonating doesn't mean it's safe.

    dyno results..should i fix this

twogts4us - One of the lines refers to a/f and it is the right hand side of the graph. Yeah, you are running lean. I would definitely straighten that out. At WOT, I wouldn't want to run leaner than 13:1 at any point. Jay

    How much for cam install???

Johnny does have a good point about the springs. I've been told anything in the neighborhood of .550" lift will need upgraded springs, but I would upgrade them regardless with any aftermarket cam. Nothing wrong with removing the entire engine to do cams, if you're dropping a built shortblock...

How do I know what style fuel injectors to buy?

There are only a few styles of injector out there. It's more about the style of injector, than the brand. The 5.0's and at least through the 2000 4.6's (sorry, mine is a 2000 so I haven't looked at anything newer) are all the same. Take a look at this modularfordpowerhouse.com. T&J has...

Help me understand a custom tune

Here's my opinion on tuning, FWIW. First, you can do it yourself regardless of whether the car is N/A or blown. I would be extremely hesitant to use a mailorder tune on a blower car - I'd rather tune it myself. However, you must have datalogging and wideband a/f capability to do it properly. The...

    Good question about Predator

Comparing the SCT PRP to the Predator is really apples to oranges. They are two completely different products with a different target market. Personally, I think they both hit the mark they're aiming for - the Predator gives enough functionality that the owner of a mildly modified Mustang...

99 UP 2V Return fuel system???? HOW????

Troy, I would send Joe Lynch (that's also his screenname on ModularDepot.com) a PM on modulardepot. He has some experience doing this sort of thing. I believe he and Bill (white99gt) can probably best help you if you want to go return style. Yes, there are settings that could be adjusted by...

99 UP 2V Return fuel system???? HOW????

You have a couple of options. First question is how much power are you looking to make? '03 Cobra pump/tank, Focus pumps, or Aviator pump are good replacements for the stock returnless system. No one has tested the Aviator pump to it's limit, but from every indication I'm hearing up to 500 RWHP...

    Problems with a MAFs

I would also recommend staying away from an aftermarket MAF unless you really, absolutely need it. I've spent about 8 hours in the last three or four days dialing in my Pro-M w/ the SCT software. The car ran fine with minimal adjustment with the OEM MAF installed, but I'm stubborn and already...

KYB AGX & Eibach Pro kit springs

I love the KYB adjustables. I just don't know if you'll be happy with the drop from the Eibach's. Your car is extremely low and unless you remove the isolators you probably won't think you're getting enough drop with the Eibach's. You might look at the H&R's - anything has got to have more...

    OBDII

A scanner simply reads either live or stored sensor data/codes from the PCM. Although it won't tell you exactly what is bad (unless the sensor actually fails a test, then you can make some assumptions about the fault) some can help you isolate problems by offering freeze frame data, meaning they...

    Engine Work Is Done... Pics

Best guess based on insight from CobraKiller & Bryan @ TSS Racing - around 9.25:1 or 9.5:1. We took some material off the edges of the pistons (around the dish - .020") and the heads have a lot of bowl work, so they're around 46CC (swirl dams removed), if I remember correctly. Jay

    Engine Work Is Done... Pics

I didn't do much - I felt like I was in the parts department. I worked on the first re-assembly, the shop dropped the longblock in for me and I worked on the final reassembly when we all stayed until 10:00 PM to finish it up. All the gaskets are Ford and we used ARP head studs - which make it a...

    Engine Work Is Done... Pics

After four months of parts breakage and disappointment I finally got the car back last night. Now I just have to break in the new block, dial in the tune with some help from SCT and wait until my finances recover enough to drop in a blower. Info: .020 forged shortblock w/ 10.5cc dished...

    01 Cobra & 00 GT Fuel Pump/Bucket

Follow up: The '01 Cobra is the same bucket and sender as the '00 GT. Found the whole assembly for $50 on E-bay (New). Replaced the pump with an Aviator pump - direct fit, absolutely perfect and simple. Whole thing under $240.00. I have heard the Aviator pump is enough pump for up to 500...

SCT Custom Tuning racer Package Questions

The first time you use your flasher it is vin-locked to the vehicle. The package is great and allows for probably the most comprehensive adjustment of any set-up out there. Beside that, the software has very detailed descriptions for most all of the parameters and there is a "members only" SCT...
