    The Steeda assist spring is $14.95. Just get it. If its true it that completely removing the spring can cause the slave cylinder to leak spending $15 bucks will save you money and aggravation in the long run. If its :bs:who cares , its only 15 bucks.

    I don't think its the synchros. with the car stopped and the clutch pedal depressed, nothing in the transmission should be rotating. It sounds like the clutch isn't full disengaging. You brought it back to the shop and they told you to let it break in ?
