    Pulleys and Belts ?s

Most pulley kits will work with your stock belt. The extra diameter of the water pump pulley makes up nicely for the smaller diameter of the crank pulley. -Matthew

    camshaft recommendation? tw heads

I ran the TFS stage 2 with the TFS track heat heads on a stock 90 5.0 short block, installed straight up. I checked P/V and there was enough. Almost a quarter inch on the exhaust side, and although it was a while ago, I think it was about .120" on the intake side. Most guys suggest a minimum of...

    Looking for Winter Rims

I run 94/95 pony wheels with my Blizzaks on an 02 GT and they work great. You can usually buy these for $250 a set, or cheaper. If they are curb rashed a little, all the better then you won't feel bad if you do it in the winter. -Matthew

    10 sec n/a 347's and 408's need info

I went 10.76@129 at Race City in Calgary where the DA is typically between 5000 and 6000 ft. in my 90 coupe which is a true N/A street car on 91 octane pump gas. The car also made a 134.6 MPH pass at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, which is another high elevation track. I also made several 1.48 60'...

    5.0 swap question everyone HELP!

I hear you, but having completed a full meal deal conversion like this, I can honestly say you are better off to just buy a V8 car in the first place. There are lots of places you can't cut corners because the parts don't fit, and there are lots of places that you shouldn't cut corners because...

    Clutch cable question...

I've never had an adjustable cable break. I always use McLeod in the clutch system though - cable, quadrant, firewall adjuster, fork, bellhousing, flywheel, disc, and pressure plate. -Matthew

    Clutch cable question...

You will need a V8 clutch cable. The rest of it is OK from the 4 cyl. You can get a V8 cable at any speed shop. -Matthew

    5.0 swap question everyone HELP!

You will need different fuel lines, computer, engine wiring harness, fan and shroud, throttle cable, cruise control cable, exhaust, motor mounts and lots of other things. If you are going to do this job right, you will need new springs, struts, shocks, spindles, brakes, rear end, transmission...

    K-Member Install

It's not a hard job to put a tubular K-Member in when the engine is out. I've done it by myself on the garage floor with a QA1 K-Member. As to the decision on whether to put it in or not, It's probably a good idea to have a clear reason for the change. In my case, I needed the header...

    injector size?

If you go with 24's, when you get to the next step on the car, you will have to buy injectors AGAIN. That's why you should buy bigger injectors in the first place. If your mass air meter is calibrated to the injectors, they should work fine, but with any of the H/C/I combinations, a dyno chip...

TKO 600, cant get into 3rd?

I run a TKO 600 in my 90 coupe. I use a McLeod bell housing, cable and quadrant, and have run the transmission with both a McLeod 800 series street clutch and a McLeod Soft-Lok. With the 800 series clutch I was shifting at 6500 RPM, with the Soft-Lok I am shifting at 8000 RPM. The transmission...

    Spark advance question

Your numbers are somewhere in the ballpark. My stock 02 GT was 209 HP on an MD-600. I doubt your total timing at WOT is 20 degrees. Those cars will take 28-30 degrees on 91 octane fuel in Calgary, naturally aspirated. That's at 3500 ft elevation though. To check your timing, turn the datalog...

    8.8 questions

With a standard fox3 width rear end in my 90 coupe, Steeda weight jacker (adjustable spring perch) lower control arms, and 28x10.5 ET Drags on 15x9 drag lights, I had to do some minor fender lip rolling AND a small amount of relief with a hammer on the inner fender sheet metal to make it all...

    removing the charcol canister

It doesn't weigh much, but if you need the space for a breather catch can it's a good idea to remove it. It never caused any problems for me to ditch it. -Matthew

    injector size?

No. I ran a very similar setup with 30# injectors, and they were no problem. -Matthew

Felpro 1250 Intake Gaskets Are Trash!!

There is nothing wrong with Craftsman torque wrenches, but if you set it, then store it for a significant amount of time on a higher than "minimum" torque setting, you can ruin it. Example - if you have a torque wrench with a setting range of 20-90 ft-lbs, and you store it at a 70 ft-lb setting...

    Looking for torque specs...

All I have is the 1/2" ARP stud torque specs: 90 ft-lbs with ARP Moly 130 ft-lbs with 30 wt oil 85 ft-lbs with ARP Moly on aluminum heads BTW: I'm pretty sure the torque spec is higher with the 1/2 fasteners than the 7/16" fasteners. Good luck. -Matthew
