    Just weighed the Mustang

I weighed my 02 GT Convertible recently. The car had the spare and jack removed from the trunk, and 1/2 tank of gas and weighed 3454 lbs. It was lighter than I thought it would be. The 357 '90 coupe weighs 2995 lbs. -Matthew

Think I finally have everything for the KB install..

There are at least three very fast foxes in Medicine Hat that have been built over the winter, including the one you guys are talking about, which is not 410 cubic inches. They should all be on the Tecmotion cruise to Three Hills if you want a closer look at them. -Matthew

    Need 8.8" rear info

If you stand the axles up side by side on the floor, you can easily see the difference. The axles are longer to accomodate the disc brakes on the rear of the 94+ cars. -Matthew

    Need 8.8" rear info

The housing is the same, but 94/95 axles are longer than 93 and earlier axles. I think the difference is 3/4" on each axle. -Matthew

Trying to get 400RWHP out of a carbed 351W : TAKE TWO

Sorry, old thread I guess. Looks like somebody else revived it this morning! Anyway, glad you're happy with your combo. -Matthew

    aftermarket chip?

Most of the Fox3 cars can be made to run pretty well without a chip. If the car is running OK already, either skip the chip, or take the car to a dyno and get a proper custom tune, which probably will be worth it. -Matthew

Trying to get 400RWHP out of a carbed 351W : TAKE TWO

For your stated combo, I would estimate around 330 at the wheels on a Mustang dyno, 375 on a dynojet. If you go with a bigger solid roller you will probably attain your 400 HP goal, assuming you are quoting dynojet numbers. If you want 400 RWHP on a Mustang dyno, you are going to need a...

HELP! Bassani catted X-pipe hitting frame. muffler shop won't touch it

I installed Bassani mid-length headers and the catted mid pipe. The mid-pipe setup is about 2 inches too long on the passenger side, and I finally had to cut an inch off the cat and an inch off the mid-pipe on the passenger side to make it fit. The driver's side fit perfectly. after I cut it...

those with Weight Jacker lowers and adjustable uppers ENTER

Mine bang a little too, but I also run a spool so it's hard to tell exactly what is banging on the thing! I ran the same control arm setup as you all year last year with no problems though, so I wouldn't get too worried about it. If you are really worried, switch to bushings instead of the...

    twisted wedge people

I ran the TFS Track Heat heads with a TFS stage 2 cam on a stock 90 short block. With the cam installed straight up, it worked fine. That's a really nice combination if you ask me. -Matthew

    351W experts HELP

I don't think 700 HP at the crank will be too big of a problem. Much more and you are getting into the territory where the stock blocks are more at risk of breaking. -Matthew

do you have to have special pistons to have 2.02"

I ran TFS Track Heat heads with a TFS stage 2 cam installed straight up on a stock 90 5.0 block and it cleared fine. That's about the limit. With true inline heads, you will not be able to run 2.02 valves with the stock pistons. -Matthew

    MustangDyno vs. DynoJet

My MD-600 reads 13-14% lower than Dynojet 248's in the same area. Your numbers don't seem too far out to me. My 2002 GT made 209/242 stock on the MD-600, but that was with about 30000 miles and after I took it apart it was clear that the pistons were pretty carboned up. If it was clean, it would...

Comp version of VT Stg. 1

The comp XE262AH is has more duration and lift than the VT stage 1 N/A cam. The XE262AH has more intake duration and less exhaust duration and slightly less lift on both lobes than the VT Stage 2 N/A Cam. In both cases, the Comp cam has a greater lobe seperation angle. In practice, I have...

    Whos running a Tweecer N/A?

I've been running one with a 351W for quite a while. Works fine. Usually you can make some gains on the dyno with a mild N/A setup and a tweecer or chip tune. -Matthew

302 to 351 (serious, not 5.0 talk style)

The distributor is not different because of the block height, but because the oil pump driveshaft is a size bigger. The 351W is a much stronger block than the 302. The hardware is all a size bigger, and the webbing is much more substantial. -Matthew
