I would bet it's kinked. Take a look at it towards the end where the adjustment is at (center console). It's a tight bend when it goes back over to the passenger side.
Just a note. When I worked at Ford we would only charge for 5 quarts but would fill up past that for whatever was needed. Meaning, they could have filled 6 and billed you 5.

My current 90 had 2 ovals and 2 squares with the dealer tags still on them (2nd owner). My other 90 had something similar to what you're talking about but it wasn't as documented as my current mustang.
I'll be doing something similar when I go through the exhaust. I'm still debating on getting ride of everything minus the cats and dealing with the premature failure of the cats.
