    It's Official: 2010 Shelby GT500

I think it's pretty breathtaking. I'm kind of in love, which says alot since I've never really warmed up to S-197 and the '10 design also left a bit to be desired for me as well. But this bad boy could seriously give some others a run for their money when it comes time for me to buy a new...

how many of you are excited?

I think it's about time the Mustang comes with an IRS. Tons of other cars come with IRS (all other cars) and many are able to perform in a straight line just fine. Personally I'd think it should at least come with an IRS as an Option.

2010 GT500 Info Release at New Years

I think it looks SICK. The side is kind of blah as the S-197 and '10 Mustang has been known for to me personally, and I'm apprehensive toward the rear since I think the '10's rear, although more interesting than the '05-'09, is too cheesy looking and executed kind of poorly. All in all, I've...

    Ford....Goin' with what they know?

Exactly. Not all new by any means IMO. I think it's about the exact same as the 98-99 changes, each had more dramatic differences in different places. 98-99 had: very noticeable exterior changes, same interior, more major engine/HP improvements, I believe it was wider wheel to wheel as well...

how many of you are excited?

I haven't experienced the S-197 much since it came out, never really liked it so I kind of moved on from Mustangs after mine went its unfortunate way. I'm not too crazy about the face-lifted version either, kind of iffy on whether I think the styling is an improvement at all or the opposite...

Did the S-197 have any changes to improve Safety Ratings in 2008?

Thanks. Yeah I assume Side Bags are hugely difficult to come by with the pre-08's. I agree with the ABS, I wouldn't buy anything without ABS.

Did the S-197 have any changes to improve Safety Ratings in 2008?

Ahh, thanks :) So the Model Year 2007 Mustangs had the chassis stiffening? The '08's have strong Safety scores, good to know the structure of the car is the same in the earlier years. How hard is it to find an '05-'07 GT with Side Air Bags out of curiosity?

Who here is going to buy the new camaro?

I personally like the new Camaro. I've always been a bigger Mustang fan than of the past competitors, but I think they nailed it with the new Camaro. It does have a bit more of a boy-ish, "toy"-ish and kind of a cheesier look than the Mustang or Challenger, but I think it does what it's intended...

Did the S-197 have any changes to improve Safety Ratings in 2008?

I was researching the S-197 a bit, and looked up the Safety Ratings, and it looks like all years get a 5 Star frontal rating, but the '05-'07's get a 4 Star side ratings while the '08+'s get a 5 Star side rating according to to Safecar.gov (unfortunately the IIHS tested only a convertible and...

Congress to Ford: drop the 2010 Mustang, get cash

Holy crap. :jaw: Yeah, people always dog on the cheap plastics, but the plus side to them is safety if you were to ever need them to give way. I wonder how you would have fared if the car had side and curtain Airbags? Perhaps you could have gotten away with none of the glass damage...

back from LA auto show, my official review of Mustang/Camaro/Challenger

Exactly. Plus to boot, even the V6 is a contender (for $22K new, it would be the first time I'd ever consider getting a V6 pony car), it's got all the Safety features and meets newer strict safety regulations hopefully (hence the heavy weight), etc. I think it would make an absolutely fun...

I checked out the new Camaro and Mustang tonight....

Went to the L.A Auto Show. I must say the Mustang left me uninspired, again I've never been huge on the S-197, but the mismatched carry-over roof with the sharper lines now under it just looked too weird to me. I'll have to see some on the road I think to make a final verdict. Interior was a...

back from LA auto show, my official review of Mustang/Camaro/Challenger

I agree with alot of what you said. The Challenger is a love it and hate it thing with me, on one hand I think it's enormous and hideous, and on the other hand I think it's pure F'ing badass....weird. The interior sucked though, pure boring blah. The Mustang was okay to me, just couldn't get...

    My thoughts exactly.

Congress to Ford: drop the 2010 Mustang, get cash

This is true, the Mustang does fare very well with Safety already. Holy crap!!:jaw: You hit something at 135 MPH and walked away? That's insane man, major congrats to you on that, did you also escape injuries? How did the car look after? I remember seeing a frontal crash Test on...

    Let's rate the new Mustang

My only real gripe about it is the same one I had about the 99 when it came out. It seems when Ford does these major face-lifts while keeping the same overall chassis and frame, they keep the identical rounded roof with super sharp panels all over the car underneath it. I do really like where...

Does Ford think we're Stupid? 315 horse? what the hell!

What's new here? Ford has always been underpowered compared to their competition. There's more to buying cars than HP, for the average Mustang owner, 315 is fine, sure most cars nowadays are available with almost 300 HP, but the Mustang has always been getting flack for that (remember...

2010 camaro and 2010 stang. Lets talk V6s.

Isn't the Camaro V6 gonna be a Turbo? I thought I read that.

What would happen if there was no more Ford?

AGREED. :nice: My biggest concern with this is all the job loses and opportunity. However I don't give any of the big 3 any of my sympathy. While other companies were spending their time adapting to what's going on, and *creating* the automotive progress, they were still hauling out huge gas...
