    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

Setting up the 3g to operate 1 wire is perfectly OK IMO.

    Cable Clutch Conversion

    1. I have several Motorsport dealers here local, and can easily source the cable. 2. The Modern Driveline piece has a unique cable, which you can only buy from MD. 3. Ditto Ron Morris. The problem is systematic to all of these units to one degree or another.

In the case of the Ranger, they are a &#$&%$#*#@@ to bleed.

    Cable Clutch Conversion

NONE of them will work with your unaltered Tri-y headers. One of the downtubes runs right in front of where the cable exits the bellhousing. You'll either have to radically reroute a tube or switch to something that fits, like Headman PN 88300 if you have a 289/302 small block.

    Cable Clutch Conversion

The Mustang Steve unit uses a stock cable and a steel quadrant. You can buy a stock cable anywhere. The Modern Driveline unit uses a unit-specific cable that may be hard to source if you somehow damage one. I have seen occurances where the pin that secures the clevis wears out on the Modern...

    Cable Clutch Conversion

You can do the Mustang Steve piece too. I have the Modern Driveline unit. My preference of the three of them is the Mustang Steve piece.

    65 suspsenion help

If you have a tire rub in the rear, it isn't because of your shock selection. You need a different wheel and/or tire combo in the back. I have no idea what is wrong with the front end. I would be inclined to remove the shocks and springs and cycle the suspension to see if it were bound up.

'70 Fuel tank in my '66

I cut it down the stock neck the exact amount the tank was higher. It doesnt line up perfect, but it's close. I'm understand I can re-align the neck with two jack handles but I haven't done it yet.

    Ebay: Rear Disc Brake Kit

I understand that the parking brake adjust mechinsim is super critical on those calipers and it needs to be perfect for these to work. Nice price tho. I have the Mustang Steve pieces and would either use his brackets or the ones from Ultrastang.

    Ebay: Rear Disc Brake Kit

If those are Ford calipers, I say go for it. You start to get nickel and dimed to death when you have to pick up stuff like parking brake cables, fittings............. If those are GM calipers, I'm inclined to say no.

'70 Fuel tank in my '66

That depends on what your definition of 'flat' is. The trunk floor is tapered from the rear end (where the floor is higher than the tank) to the taillight panel (where the tank is higher than the floor. Here are pictures of my '70 tank in my '65: That #1 phillips screwdriver will...

Should I remove my clutch pedal spring?

I took mine off. I have a cable clutch. I would assume you would do the same with a hyd. unit.

Compression/Leakdown testing - must engine be warm?

If you find a problem dry, you can squirt it and see if it helps. If it does help, apart it comes.

Compression/Leakdown testing - must engine be warm?

I'd do it dry first. If you have a problem, you'll find it dry.

    What headers - GT40 heads?

I have GT40x heads. JBA, Hedman, and those crappy tri-y pieces all clear with no problems. Do you have GT40P heads off an explorer by any chance?

New member seeking advice on estimate for restore...

I'm kind of in the business of automotive repair. That quote is reasonable. I don't know if the shop is any good, but they certainly know how to appropriately quote a job. Here is my expenditures to get a fairly rust free CA car to paint: Parts - $2100 Bodyman labor - $5000 Prep Labor...

When I did mine, I changed the two hoses from the compressor and the dryer. I think my charge had one pound of R134.

Your right, and I knew that. There is a four page thread on corner carvers regarding Ron's project. I don't know why I wrote torque arm, but it was obv. wrong. I apologize.

    65 Stock versus repro hood

A: The box. The repro one comes in a box from the Kung Chong Stamping plant (or something similar) in China. The OE replacement comes in a box from somebody in the United States. The really good NOS OE replacement comes in a box that says "Genuine Ford" on it. These are the hardest to...

Is it possible to remove drip rail channel on '66 mustang?

You can remove them to work on them. You will need a spot weld cutter, a sawzall, a cutoff wheel, and maybe a plasma cutter. I'm being serious. While you CAN get them off, you probablly shouldn't. Just like the dash.
