    I think I'm $10K deep and I haven't got color on mine yet. I got a good guy price. If I'd ran this through the front door of the shop? Maybe $20K. For a really good job? More. Resprays on these cars are bucks. Nobody want's to do them.

    I just bought the paint and materials to paint my car. It was $2500. I have about 8K in labor so far. I'll be about $12K when I get done. This is a side job that has taken two years to complete. If the shop who did it ran it through the front door, I'd be out at least double.

    Part of it might be the road you are driving on. My wife's Toyota Rumion (google search that one!) tracks straight as an arrow on asphalt but you put it on a concrete freeway and it tramlines like you're on the tow rope at a ski resort.

    It seems like that color likes three coats of base so it doesn't get "blotchy" or whatever the term is. I know with a lot of colors you can get away with two, but that one - eehhh, not so much.

    Huh. I just cleaned them today with a scotchbrite and some acid based degreaser and the scotchbrite didn't even scratch them. You can see where I tried to polish them . It didn't work. If you say their aluminum I believe you, but this is some tough tough stuff.

    A note for clarity I think I've got '85 valve covers, and they are pot metal not aluminum. I found out when I went to polish them.

    I'd dump the KYB shocks before I changed the springs. I don't think 620's are too stiff for street use, but the KYB shock is way overvalved. (Actually I was looking for OP's info, but you're OK too. I work in Lake Forest, FWIW.)

    Because without the monster shipping box they use from the OE vendor, you can't ship this that way. Even if I had a box, freight would be about $125 one way. And even if you wanted to pay for freight and I had a box, you take a 50% chance of having the UPS thrower damage it. Whoever picks...
