Racing School, Savannah, GA - Feb 25-26

Oh man, I was just in Savannah last weekend visiting family. Too bad you weren't there then, I have always wanted to try out a racing school.

Will 06 gt oem rims fit 00v6 stang?

Yup, the offset is different so they may not be set in the correct depth.

17 or 18 inch? Ride Quality vs Handling?

I would say go with the 18's but don't go bigger than that. I am going to be switching my 17s for 18s soon. Over 18" is when you start adding too much unsprung weight IMO.

Long tubes + ease of installation

You can do it on just jack stands but it won't be easy. I did cats, x-pipe and axle back on just jack stands and it was a little rough but possible.

does SCT turn off X pipe O2 sensors?

Before you just turn them off I suggest tuning the car to fix the A/F so it runs better rather than just turning off the o2 sensors and covering up the problem. The o2 sensors are there to help adjust the A/F for maximum performance however they can only adjust for 5% in either direction. If...

    can injectors be too big?

Your feul pump also has to be able to keep up with the injectors...don't forget to upgrade the pump too if you go with much bigger injectors.

    Need Help SC or TT

If you got the money for the twin turbo I say go with that...I would just strongly advise to put some forged internals in the bottom end before adding to much boost.

    Possible Solution for Shaker Skipper

Here is the TSB http://franksperformance.com/Forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=142 I had mine replaced 2 times...the second time they damaged my dash and had to replace the whole thing. $1400 job that they did on their dime. I am done having that thing changed. Anyway, that is a good...

    Hurst Short Throw Shifter

Here is an article on installing a short throw shifter...I know it is not in an S197 but it might help: http://www.mustang50magazine.com/howto/138_0408_shifter_install/index.html Also, when you install it be sure to tighten all the linkages real well. I have heard that there are some...

    Hey folks

Winter sucks. Put my Stang away in November and she won't be back out until March. In the mean time I am just saving up for mods.

Bassani X Pipe and Cat Back

Very true, you could just start with the axle backs and if you like the sound add the x-pipe and or cats later on. You won't get more than a 3-5 hp gain out of the axle back but then again you don't get much more out of the x-pipe either. I have the Bassani cats, x-pipe and axle back on my car...

    Failsafe mode

I would contact whoever did the tune for you. IMO though the best thing you can do for your money is to have someone do a custom tune for you. Canned tunes can work fine but I think they have too much room for error since every car is different. Go to www.sctflash.com and put in your zip code...

Do I need a tune when installing aftermarket wheels??

You can use your tuner to put in the revolutions per mile and once the computer knows that your speedo will be fine. As far as performance goes I wouldn't worry too much. There is not a lot of additional unsprung weight there. I wouldn't go above 18" though. When you start running 20" wheels...

    Steeda HD motor mounts

I have heard different claims about the Steeda motor mounts but have not seen any dyno results so far. The idea is that they lessen the amount of power lost to engine vibration and therefore give you a few extra HP. Here is what Steeda says about them: 'The weakest link in your drivetrain may...

    white smoke

Most likely just condensation from the car sitting for a while. When I first put on my Bassani's I had white smoke for a good 5 min until all the condensation dried out. I would say don't worry about it unless it continues. If it does continue check the oil and make sure it does not look tan...

    Dyno Numbers & CAI/tuner Questions

I put down 299 rwhp / 323 rwtq with JLT CAI, Bassani exhaust and custom 93 octane SCT tune. My dyno videos and graphs are here: http://franksperformance.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=161 I know the graph says "flywheel hp" but it is really rwhp. I asked the guy doing the tune and he said...

Any way to hear exhaust set ups in person?

I see you narrowed it down to those two but before you make a final decision DEFINATLY check out Bassani. I have the Bassani cats, x-pipe and axle back and love it. It is exactly what you described above. A nice deep rumble when idling but nothing too crazy and a real head turner at WOT...

    HELP car wont start

Make sure the belt going to the alternator is the right size and tight enough. If not you won't get enough juice out of it.

    Tune question

I have heard that the Hurst rattles quite a bit. If you get it just make sure to tighten up the linkage real good and it should solve the problem.
