    Did you take those little "e" clips off. I have Cobra calipers and they had a washer and e clip on each side. Ahhh, my bad....

    My friend has KYB Adj. on a 96GT and it is making a noise very similar to what you are describing. Metal clunk over small holes and the such. He took it to Brad's in Seattle and among other things on his ride, that was one of them.
