    Freakin' boot cover

Good idea Maybe that 'glass tonneau is the way to go. I've read that they part so they can go into the trunk. Plus they look distinctive. Can they be had in color (my '01 is silver) or do the need to be painted? Thanks for the idea....

Which Oil is the King of the Hill?

Mobil 1 I use 15/50 in my built 302 powered '65 and 0/20 in the '01. In fact I have used Mobil 1 in everything but differentials and lawn mowers for years, including motorcycle engines. RedLine is likely better but near double the price. I get huge miles out of engines I have built when I...

    Freakin' boot cover

Ok, so I'm an idiot. In a strong cross wind, the boot cover blew off the back of my '01 convert. Wouldn't have happened on my '65 since it snaps on three sides and slips, with effort, in the front. Or I just use a 3/4 tonneau which also snaps on. On the '01, there are two snaps and a fairly...

    75k too old for Supercharger?

Great question Yeah, do a compression test to see, superficially, what kind of shape the engine is in. If you have been good about maintenance it should be okay so long as you limit boost and switch to synthetic oil for better lubrication. Probably around 6PSI to start.

    First oil change

Mobil 1 0/20 When I changed I noticed that it spun up a little faster and had slightly more oil pressure. I use 15/50 in my 302 powered '65 and love it. Yeah, it costs more, but wear is minimized and you don't have to change oil nearly as often. I use Wix filters due to the smaller filter...

    car having trouble turning over...

You probaby already have done this but.... Have you checked the battery terminals and all of the grounds? Just a little corrosion is all it takes in my humble experience. Especially on the cable that grounds the block....

Should I get 4.10s if I'm not getting DRs?

I do a different approach.... On the '01 GT, I just put siped Toyos on the Bullitt rims. They hook pretty well and are especially effective on turns. I like the sleeper launch on the '65 so I roll out at around 3,000 RPM and then nail it. Sure surprises lots of folks. I always line up a few...

    2001+ Headlight Questions

Try some motorcycle windshield polish Works on the fog light lenses, too. I even use it on on '65's taillights. Makes 'em look like new. And it sure is cheaper than new assemblys. Now that assumes that you want to fix whatcha got and not go new...... :D
