    Manual or power?

I want to go back to mustang spindles and play around with the 99+ mustang 11"/PBR brakes. I need a set of spindles to make up a bracket though (like shaggy is doing with the 13" cobra brakes). I got rid of my 65 spindles and the 70 spindles are supposed to have the same geometry. Somethin'...

    Manual or power?

I think the 5.0 booster will work in a 67+ car (shouldn't hit the shock tower), but maybe not the 65-66 stangs. Hopefully it won't be in the way of the hydraulic clutch master cylinder. My buddy with a 69 thinks it will work because 69-70 could be ordered with power brakes and a 4 speed...

    Air cleaner tech. clearance

Spacers do help with performance. Open spacers help top-end power and the 4 hole design is to help with low-end. The plastic/phenolic ones are also supposed to help with heat soak/vapor lock. Maybe try a 3/4" or a 1/2" spacer.

    Lincoln Versailles Rearend ?

I can't see the whole tag, but it's a 9" with a 2.47:1 gear ratio (best I can see). The brake hardware looks to be in pretty bad shape, but the housing looks OK. The explorer brake kit is cheap, maybe cheaper than the replacement versailles parts. EDIT: I wouldn't bother cutting it down--...

    Lincoln Versailles Rearend ?

It's a big bearing rear and has one of the strongest housings. I thought all the big bearing rears had the tapered roller bearing, but I'm not too sure. The Versailles rear discs are not the greatest setup though. You can use disc brakes off of a 95+ explorer though. Also, the mustang SVO/...

So i need a higher amp alternator...3g conversion?

No, you'll just have to use your old pulley. The 100 amp is a big case, so clearance is an issue. As I said, you will need to modify the lower bracket (at least I did). The wiring is the same as the old stock alt., but the connectors are a little different. My setup is kind of a "hodge...

    Lincoln Versailles Rearend ?

The versailles rear is wider than a 65-66 rear. The only 9" rears that are the correct width are the 57-59 ford rears and the 65-66 K code hipos (there may be a few others, but not many). 65-66 is 57.25" drum face to drum face. the versailles is ~58.50". $400 isn't too bad though, if it's...

So i need a higher amp alternator...3g conversion?

I used the taurus 100 amp in mine-- externally regulated. It was off a late 80's early 90's 3.8 taurus. It's the "big case" alternator. Here's some info http://soderblom.net/bronco/tech/largealt/ I switched to a serpentine setup at the same time, so I had to space the alternator out a bit...

E6AE Heads, anyone know the specs

E6 = worst small block head ever. Hence, they were quickly replaced by E7's.

    Distributor question

You can use a duraspark distributor with a cast gear (non-roller). for the control box, use a duraspark box or a HEI module. the HEI is easier to wire and will allow the use of a better coil (ford TFI coil). I would go the HEI route myself, but I already have a pertronix...

    AFR 185's or 205's?

I'm not sure the Vic Jr. intake would be too good for the street. Best bet would be a good dual-plane intake, such as the RPM or Stealth. Again, for the street, 185's will prolly be better.

Hypereunetic (sp) pistons and boost..yes or no?

Get forged pistons. As a rule of thumb, use forged for juice or boost applications. If the hypers decided to go, that's an expensive problem. The cost of the forged pistons is cheaper than a new motor. As said, the hypers will work for awhile but forged will last longer.

9 inch rear disc brake options

Granada/Versailles rear discs are only great if you are getting the whole rear end. Parts are getting a little hard to find as they were not made for too long. The rear explorer discs (if you have a late model big bearing 9") and Ultrastang's rear disc setups are the cheapest approach...

    Weighed the fastback...

Just thought I would let some of you know what my 65 fastback weighs-- 3140 lbs with me in it (~155 lbs) and stuff in the trunk. I weighed it at our local dump, I mean "Refuse Disposal Site." :p I should have weighed the front and rear separately too, but they were "officially" closed and I...
