    Looking At A 66 Mustang

From what you would get, it would be pretty easy to swap in a V8, that 200ci sucks! The rust is your main problem, who knows how bad it is under the paint. Look under the carpet in the front for signs of a cowl leak, also check the trunk for rust. Can you post a pic of what you will be trading...

    8" To 9" Conversion Question

Are you putting the 9" third member into the 8" housing? I'm not sure you can do that if thats what I'm reading. In regards to your question, everything I've read says that the 9" is a little longer therefore you might need to change your driveshaft length, but I don't know about all the...

Looking At A 66 Mustang, Want Some Advice

I agree $1,500 tops, it is going to take some serious cash to get it to daily driver status. I would ditch the 6 cylinder and just do the V8 swap, would be about the same cost and you would be happier with the result. Mine was a 6 cylinder originally, that thing almost killed me trying to pass...

I Cant Find The Dipstick Tube Insert Anywhere

I suppose you could have a early model 302 block where the dipstick should be in the timeing cover, but at the same time have a late model timing cover that doesn't have a dipstick tube in it. That would mean you don't have a dipstick opening at all. Like Horse sense said in your other post, it...

    Putting Discs On A '68

I wish I could help you more, I'm running 4 wheel disc brakes with no power brakes in my '68. It stops ok, but I'll be upgrading to power brakes soon, just take a lot of effort to keep the pedal depressed. I used the disc brake setup from mustang steve, so I have the brakes from a 1994 cobra...

    289 Vacuum Lines And Hoses

Edelbrock carbs have a vacuum port specifically designated for manifold vacuum, hooking the vac advance to that port works just fine.

    289 Vacuum Lines And Hoses

It will be obvious which one goes where when you are hooking it up. I don't know the exact diameters, but the c4 vacuum line is small and the vacuum booster line is big. I'll include a pic of my engine, maybe you can see how the water hoses hook up. I too am running without a heater, but I did...

    289 Vacuum Lines And Hoses

The water pump outlet goes to your heater hose. The pipe above the thermostate housing is the bypass hose, it connects to the water pump. The vacuum ports on the back of the manifold, one will be for the transmission vacuum line, one for power brakes. If you don't have use of it, just cap it off.

Why does it cost so friggin much to install a headliner?

Ever considered the mustangs to fear one piece headliner? I'm going that way cuz it gives you 1.5 inches more headroom. You tuck the edges under the window gaskets but the instructions don't say anything about having to remove the windows. I asked about shipping and they quoted me: Size of...

    Electrical Painless Wiring

Classic Autowire is another option, you can find them on sale occasionally. I like them because they come with new headlight switch and dimmer switch, plus the updated fuses just like painless. I can't attest to its quality or ease of installation vs painless though.
