    For autocross there's plenty of time between runs to balance tire pressures. We're also only running ~45-90 seconds at a time, so heat doesn't build up as much. A couple psi heat increase between runs is normal. :) Tom

    Shifter knob?

    It might be easiest to pop the leather boot off of the console (just snap fits holding it in) and spin the whole thing off, then separate the boot from the knob. Either removing the boot from the shift knob or the console first makes it easier. Tom

    Really? Admittedly my experience has been with WRX's, but tires are tires. We'd start at 40 psi and go up/down a psi or two to balance out the car. This is with summer street tires. I'd *guess* :D with rear wheel drive dropping the rear psi a bit would help with traction under throttle...

    05 Throttle lag

    I hated the throttle lag I had with my car; 1st gear is already hard enough to launch lightly, and the throttle lag made it worse. Reflash got rid of 80% of it, made me happy. :) Tom

    Sounds like traction control is working your brakes pretty hard, especially if the first set went out at the track. If traction control was working the rear brakes a lot, they probably got pretty hot, maybe cooked a bearing. who knows. Tom

    Did they also try to sell you muffler bearings & blinker fluid? Seriously, they have no idea what oil does. 5W20 dyno or synthetic is fine for the engine. personal experience says synthetics are great for tight tolerances modern engines. Tom

    toe-out in front could also cause the inside to wear very poorly. I went through some S-03's 'cause of toe-out. Sounds like an alignment is needed. Tom

    For an otherwise stock car, the flash/no-flash intakes will be close in power because the stock intake & air filterbox is very restrictive. Once other power mods go on the car, the larger intakes will respond with more power. Intakes that come with SCT or Diablosport tunes allow a reflash...

    Those are some very cool pics! The only thing I can think of for your pic, is that the out-of-focus trees mess up the effect. maybe just set the focus for scenery? Mind you, I need to grab a book on photography one of these days and read up so I'm not talking out of my butt. :) Tom

    Going BACK to the dealer.......

    I feel for ya! My car went back to the dealer on a flatbed, at 115 freakin' miles for a toasted pinion bearing. :mad: First they tried to replace the pinion & bearing, but the bearing bonded/welded itself to the axle housing, so (thankfully) they are replacing the whole axle. Tom

    'a bit' and 'hard' are different depending on the turbo. does it have coolant fittings, how big is it, etc.. Most stock turbos (and turbo's that upgrade from the stock fittings) have a coolant line running through them these days, so waiting for them to cool off isn't really needed these...

    If it was the iPod cable, it may be contacting inside the cover (wires inside frayed), grounding out and doing nasty things, even with the new routing. You may want to get a new cable just in case; the damage to the cable may not be visible. Tom
