    Don't understand!

Er, the 2000 mustang had 16" wheels, while the mid year had 17", but the tire diameters were likely identical. :) What were the tire specs for those? And when my speedo reads 70, I'm doing ~68 mph. pretty common, you won't find cars that read exactly right from the factory. They all...

    road course forced induction

It depends on the gearing, but professional road race teams use turbos, as ultimately you get more power out of the same boost/displacement ('course, top-fuel dragsters are SC...). With a properly sized turbo you can get a LOT of midrange torque. World Rally Championship cars are 2.0l...

    Average MPG

I get 18-19 mpg with 35 average speed. Intake & tune, 3.55 rear end. Tom

Yeah, same here. the leather squeaks against itself occasionaly in 1st & 3rd gear. Tom

    wheels...yes or no?

I like 'em. People resist change, think that the new mustang looks good only looking like an old mustang. Just 'cause it doesn't look like an old mustang doesn't mean it's wrong. :nice: 'Course, I gotta get pics of my rims up here one of these days; I'm guessing people will whine about how...

I'm really confused, help me out..

Anyone paying 10-20k dealer markup isn't concerned about price and won't care that prices went down. If they do care, they got what they deserved. It's that simple. Tom

More Accurate - Speedo or GPS?

The speedo should definitely read higher. I'd trust the GPS indicated speed; we've used GPS to calibrate the TSD trip computer in the rally car. My mustang reads ~2 mph high at 70mph. Tom

    tuning???

My Brenspeed tune got rid of about half of the throttle delay. It still takes a little extra to blip the throttle when rev matching. Most of the time I'll blip the throttle & nothing happens. Still much better than stock. Tom

    performance wheels

When you say performance, do you mean drag racing or handling? And how lightweight are you looking? 20.5 lbs for an 18x8.5? 21 lbs for 18x9.5? Or 17 lbs for an 18x8? That's SSR's forged aluminum wheel weight...

    Shift knob help

Which is exactly what subaru uses. I've already had one shift knob from my wrx in my mustang for a bit, although I ended up liking the stock mustang knob better so I put it back in. :) Tom

More on TPM (07 Stangs) .....

Well, it took a week, but it came on. It only comes on every once in a while though; not every time. Tom

Sold my Mach and ordered a....

The only thing I'll add to this 'discussion' ;) is that the Shelby, regardless of whether it's collectible or not, will hold it's value much better than a Gt modified to the same level. I've never seen a modified used car sell for the value of the stock car + value of the add-on parts (both...

    3.31 v. 3.55 if not 4.10's?

I didn't have an interest in 3.55's when I bought my car, but it was the only extraneous option and it was only $100. I can still get great mileage (I average within 1 mpg of what I got with my WRX) and there isn't a drone on the highway (although the exhaust will stay stock for a while). I...

anybody got the Cervinis B2 Chin Spoiler yet???

I've seen another car online with it, all black, but I can't find it at the moment. I have it sitting in my living room waiting to be painted. Tom

    Throttle body

Ford racing performance parts (frpp). the delete plates replace the CMCV (charge motion control valve) plates. The CMCV plates are for very low engine speed idle quality/control & startup. Tom

More on TPM (07 Stangs) .....

Knock on wood, I haven't noticed the TMPS idiot light or got a message in the message center after hitting reset once it came up the first time. Don't know why, don't care. Only had the wheels 1 week, but I've got plenty of driving in. If it does start to come up whenever I start the car...

Nasty Spin, NO TCS -- Options?

Even new/fresh stock Pirelli's are easy to break loose in the rain. If you have some mileage on them I wouldn't be suprised that you spun. Depending on price you're willing to pay, Eagle F1 GS-D3's are amazing in the wet, and there are several other summer tires that perform great in the...

    e85 85% ethanol fuel

Long term, yes. but currently corn prices are very high due to ethanol demand: http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2006-12-14-ethanol_x.htm?csp=34 On some other comments in the is thread, E85 may eventually eat through some componenets, but all fuel system components currently...

    Head rests

I can definitely see where driving with a helmet will be annoying. Some options: 1. remove the leather/cloth/vinyl cover over the headrest & carve out some of the foam. I'd guess that while it feels like your chin is in your chest, removing/carving just 1/2" of the foam would be a huge...
