    I believe they changed the diameter of the sample tube to recalibrate for the 24's,(Thus bolting the stock unit into this setup would work) but I'd double check that on the manufacturers site.

    Dunno if you got the vents out, but the moveable "vent" piece pops out, then the tabs inside will need to be pryed up while gently pulling on the duct to release it.     Eh, these systems werent really designed to work together... Without spending more money than a nice aftermarket unit costs, the short answer is, you're stuck without bass. Unfortunatley the crossover is built into that head unit and there is no easy way to turn it off...

    I'd grab a test speaker and hook it into the outputs (for the front "subs") of the amps in the trunk, these are farily accesable and will let you know if you need to head toward the doors or the sterio before you have to pull any thing apart.

    Ok, get a Metra 70-5521 harness, and a Metra 99-5026 dash kit. This will allow your alpine to work with the mach system, and it will plug right in... Go here and search those part #'s to check 'em out. Metra Electronics - Fit Guide . Ebay or your local install shop should have these parts!!!

    Yep, '99 Mach's are three ampers, sounds like you have a signal lost between the head unit and rear amps, as they run the subs the rear amps run the subs on their respective sides.
