    There was an article in a mag not all that long ago about a 2.3 making a little over 400 HP, so it is very doable. I have a friend with one in his autocross tube framed car, and it runs at a little over 200 HP naturally aspirated. They can make power.

    There is a reason for the copy cat car. There were quite a few cars used in the movie actually. Most of them had 289s. Some of them were cut up for camera equipment and special shots. Some were destroyed during the filming, and a couple were left intact after all the abuse. It's easy to see why...

    Give Echlin a try. I know a lot of people that won't put anything but Echlin electical parts in their cars.

    And get some good practice with a stick before you add the power too. :D A great way to learn skillful shifting and how to modulate a clutch well, is off road driving, if that's a possibility for you. It will turn you into a stick shifting pro in no time, or fry your clutch, one or the other. :D
