    300hp N/A v6, how to.

NJstangpilot, I also would be satisfied with 300 hp at the crank. When my car is completely paid off I may bump it up to 400 or more, finances permitting, but that would entail a lot more work and cash. I don't know how much having the heads ported and polished would cost but I do know that...

    300hp N/A v6, how to.

I had a similar experience as fazm83 with my Mustang about a month ago when I took it in to get the strut TSB fix. They had my car two days and I was stuck with a Ford Taurus ZX4. I absolutely hated that thing! I couldn't wait to get back into my Mustang. The Taurus handled ok and acceleration...

    300hp N/A v6, how to.

I agree that there really should have been an 8.8" in the V6's. Ford's just too cheap I guess. :D The 7.5 axle is why I'm planning on not going over the 300hp level for for a long while. 300 horses for a N/A V6 would be nice.

"Blown" An Epic Campaign to V6 Mustang Superiority!

MSP, in regards to S/C with a boost level of 8-9 lbs would not require an intercooler but would there be any benefit to intercooling at that boost level? I've seen S/C's for the 3.8L V6 in previous Mustangs that were intercooled but they were also set up for 14 lbs of boost. I don't read much...

    300hp N/A v6, how to.

There is a company called Super Six Motorsports that has ported heads and throttle body for the 4.0L V6, though I don't think they have any cams or intakes for it yet. I know from their web site that the 3.8L V6 used in earlier Mustangs with ported heads & intake and cam would net 90hp for about...

"Blown" An Epic Campaign to V6 Mustang Superiority!

Slightly off topic but has anyone thought of getting up to 300 hp without supercharging? It can be done but would require replacing the heads, cam and/or intake. This is something I plan on doing at some point after my warranty expires. I personally don't need to beat a GT or Corvette or Cobra...

    transmission & axle

If the tranny can handle 300 ft-lbs or more of torque I'll be happy 'cause I don't plan on going over that for a long while. Since I don't ever plan on dumping the clutch at all even if I do occassionally take it to the track then the rear end will be good until I decide to get serious with the...

    transmission & axle

Jenns05Stang, I checked out the website you gave. Unfortunately, going by the gear ratios listed for the T-5 and the gear ratios listed in the specs for the V6 mustangs apparently the T-5 with ratios the same as in the Mustang specs pdf is rated at only 175-230 for torque which is below the peak...

    transmission & axle

It has been stated on this forum that the 7.5 can only handle 300 lb/ft of torque, considering the V6 starts off with 240 that doesn't leave a lot of room. CAI, headers, duals and underdrive pully would probably get the engine pretty close to that 300 mark. Supercharging with no other mods...

JBA Evol dual exhaust install problem

Does anyone know how to get the pipes on the the car without having to use a lift? That's one thing that JBA failed to mention. I lifted the rear end of the the car as much as I could and I still am unable to put slip the pipes over the axel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even...

    Attempted to get duals today...

I just ordered the JBA dual exhaust bolt-on kit for my V6. I was having a hard time finding a shop that would do what I wanted so decided to take the easy route. Has anyone installed the JBA duals? If so, how are they? After reading all the gorey details about the problems others have had with...

    Mod question

I know the SCT and Diablo tuner web sites state that "unless otherwise stated the tunes require premium gas...". They seem to imply if not outright state that installing a tune and not using premium gas you will not get any horsepower increase. This may be true but if adding mods like a cold air...

    New tire wobble issue....

NJstangpilot has a point. I don't know why I didn't think of that because my brother's Mustang has tire wander on less than perfect roads because he has rather wide tires, 255's on front and 275' on rear. Good point. Something to think about.

    New tire wobble issue....

That does sound strange. Anything is possible but I have read of other people putting rims on their 05 Mustangs that have different offsets than the originals without any problems. I admit I hate problems like that which are not consistent because it makes diagnosing them much harder. I still...

    New tire wobble issue....

I have a V6 Mustang also and bought some 17x8 black Bullit rims a few weeks ago with Continental 235/55's mounted on them and have had no trouble at all. Car drives quite smoothly at 70 mph. I'll have to say he's BS'ing you. :bs: Sounds to me like the tires were not properly balanced. Of...

    Steering rack issues?

It's a known issue with Ford. There is a TSB on it. It's the strut berrings and according to Ford there will be a fix for it withing the next few weeks. I took mine in for the same front end popping noises a couple of days ago and that's what I was told. Others on this forum have confirmed this...
