    Assuming you're a good welder, I would start looking into a jig and review restorations done on convertibles where you need to weld in braces to keep everything square while you are restoring it.

    To be honest, to fix that much rust will cost a fortune. You may want to consider going with something like a new Dynacorn body and using that one as a donor.

    That could be, because the NHTSA requirements would not have to apply to vehicles designated for export.

    The 289 makes sense in an early '68, but I've never seen a '68 without the side markers.

    Just to be clear, when you say it won't fully turn over, do you mean it won't crank or it cranks but won't start.

    Have you taken a look at the original alternator for a 302 with A/C? I would think the original wiring for it may still be intact.

    When I had my 289 heads rebuilt, I had them machined for the teflon seals.
