    WOW...That Sucks...A LOT

This happened to me once with a set of wheels from Jegs. Two of them had the correct BC and two were wrong. They mailed me a return shipping sticker to put on the box and send back. Most places won't ship the replacement until they receive the returned part.

    Engine replacement & tranny rebuild

There's usually something on one of the freeze plugs that will change color if it gets hot. So make sure you don't paint over it.

    Engine replacement & tranny rebuild

t_chelle16, are you leaving the tranny in? personally I prefere to pull the engine and tranny together. It will make the shift kit and any seal replacement on the tranny easier on your engine stand. I also find it easier to go back in together also. None of the fun of trying to line everthing up...

    mini tub/full tub

Im running 15 X 10 wheels with 6.5 BS on my 69 with 295-50-15 tires. They have a 11.7 section width. I had to cut of a little of the bump stop, reroute the fuel line to the inside and cut a small section of the inner wheel well. I have .5" clearance to the leaf springs.

Power brakes with a 270 cam?

I used to run a Comp cams 270 Magnum solid lifter cam and it had 18" vacuum at idle. Power brakes were not a problem. I now run a 290/300 and it's fine too.

How do you know what size pushrods to use?

Put some grease on the valve tip then put the rocker and push rod on and ajust it. Then turn the motor over one time so the valve opens and closes. Then remove the rocker and it should of left a pattern on the valve tip in the grease. It will just be a clean mark in the grease. If this mark is...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

Here's some pics of the oil galley plug from a spare block I had sitting around. As you can see this block is missing one too. The top two are the oil gallies for the lifters. I think the bottem one is for the cam. So if the plug is missing then you are not getting the oil you need to...

    Question about open headers/exhaust

This happened on my car once. In my case it was the float level in the rear that was too high and gas would spill over when I backed off. I set the level lower and it stopped. Alot of FI motors do it also without a full exaust. Mine would shoot blue flames. I had side pipe back then and I...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

You have to pull the timing cover and timing chain. I have all of this off my motor so I will try to get you some pics when I get home. But as I said before these plugs are in the oil gallies and would have nothing to do with milky oil. That's a different problem. With an oil galley plug missing...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

The small plugs go in the oil gallies behind the timing chain. If one had popped out then you probably wouldn't get any oil up to the rockers on one head. Pull your valve covers and to see if head looks dry. They plug the oil passages to the lifters not water. This shouldn't have anything to do...

    What is my clutch size?

What size clutch did the 289 flywheel have origially? If the flywheel is not on the engine take it to the auto parts store and see if it matches. I have a 28oz and a 50oz flywheel from when I had a 5 speed and they would both use the same disc and plate. But I don't know about your 289 flywheel.

    What is my clutch size?

You need a 50oz flywheel on 82 and up 302's. Just get the 87 flywheel and clutch.
