    e85 85% ethanol fuel

Even before that, in 1975 Brazil required 20% ethanol in the fuel. The cars (fuel systems) at the time were tested and could handle it. Some could handle up to 30%.

TPMS Woes... What are you guys doing about this?

I have a friend at a supplier that uses specific software to interface with traction control. step 1. have software that will talk to instrument cluster; not the PCM. still plugs in through OBD port, so someone may have something... step 2. figure out bit code that determines what telltales...

TPMS Woes... What are you guys doing about this?

My display warning is disabled. TPMS still 'funtions', but it doesn't tell the instrument cluster anything. No, it's not something one can do with a re-flasher.

    Getting Better Gas Mileage

Technically lugging is heavy throttle at rpms below the torque peak. The issue is low rpms with a lot of heat, which can damage the engine over long stretches, since your putting in more heat than the cooling system can take out at that engine speed. Running below the idle speed isn't a big...

    e85 85% ethanol fuel

Um, there's nothing in E85 that will damage your catalytic converters... C16 is a leaded racegas, and the lead damages the converter making it useless. If we really want to do a thread about E85 and effects, we should start a new one & reference the good posts in this one, plus some other...

    Getting Better Gas Mileage

I've been pondering something for a while now; The tremec website lists several 3650 tranmissions, and one of them has a lower (taller) 5th gear; 0.62. I think it was on some earlier mustangs but I don't know. How much would it cost to press on a new fifth gear? 'Course, for people that...

Tricked out V6 on NewTakeOff TV

Well, kill is a strong word, but a stock auto puts down about 250rwhp. 270 hp and 3:73's should make easy work of that. :)

    Trunk emblem flaking...

Nope, haven't brought it in yet. Pondering if I want to, or if I want something else there.

what does your user name mean...

Hmm.... 8ish years ago when the WRX was introduced, I think my name was slideways on a board or two. Bought the WRX, signed up on the subaru forums as SlideWRX. Maybe I'll change someday... probably not. :) Tom

    Trunk emblem flaking...

I wonder if it's an '07 thing; Mine is doing it too. I bought a new take-off to replace it, although those of course don't have the adhesive on the back. Anyway, the new take-off has a clear cover over the center area. Tom

That is exactly the problem. I don't remember what resistor I put in, but it's a 5v switch.

    Pre-production 2008 Bullitt on ebay

The 1pp means it was a car built on the line in a pre job 1 build phase. They often take some of those cars and have people drive them for 6-8 hours/day to get the mileage up to see if any last minute issues come up. So basically, someone drove a loop on public roads around the assembly plant...

    05-07' Camber Bolts

Toe in/out (don't remember which) will also produce that wear. go for zero toe, and ~-1 to -1.5 camber.

    Weight question

The 'shipping' weight of a GT is 3356 (deluxe) or 3375 (premium). Add a full tank of gas (~90 lbs at 6 lbs per gallon), and the radio (shaker 500 is 15 lbs, shaker 1000 is 73 lbs), maybe auto trans (~40 lbs) and that's your cars weight, +/- 20 lbs for other features & whatever mods you've done...

    Suspension Mod Advice

Coilovers are probably going to be pretty stiff with 20's, and realistically can require a lot of adjustment to just get a good ride. D-specs, springs that lower just enough that you're happy, and camber bolts to correct front camber. Adjustable panhard bar (poly/poly bushings for street) and...

A few pictures while at work Part 2!

I like how the lights & reflections line up with the parking lights on this one. With a little trimming (trim off the light on the left edge, & the overhead machinery, but leave the overhead light) that would make an awesome background. I like it! :nice: Tom

    More pictures.....

Hmm... I actually like the headlights. They don't seem out of place to me, where several of the other aftermarket ones do. what do the three little lights do? I agree the mixing of badges isn't a good idea. And washing the car before a photoshoot is a good idea. :D Don't sweat it though...
