    distributor gear Q

Yea, that looks to be the cheapest, easiest setup to wire in. I don't know why so many people do the duraspark conversion when this is easier. I have wanted to try it for some time, but I'm not sure it will be any better than the Pertronix setup I have now. People on the carbdford forum that...

    biggest tire ?

Cool. Do you know exactly how wide it is drum to drum (or disc to disc)? I think it's quite a bit narrower than a stock 67 rear end (59.25"), so you won't need much backspacing.

    biggest tire ?

Maybe check Nick's wheel/tire database. Find the largest rubber you can fit, then play with backspacing accordingly. http://www.dodgestang.com/mustang.htm And what 8.8 did you use?

    distributor gear Q

I think the shafts are different diameters. Was this 85 GT a stick or auto? If you're 100% sure it came from a roller motor, do you want to sell it? If it's a junkyard dizzy, maybe I could just swap you one (junkyard duraspark with cast gear).

    T-5 yolk questions.

I re-used my toploader yoke. I had my driveshaft shortened 3/4", but take measurements. You want the yoke to be able to go into the tranny about 1 inch with the car sitting on the wheels (1" between yoke shoulders and the tranny tailshaft).

Got an organ donor wrecked '85 GT

Why aren't you going to run the 85 distributor? It is supposed to have a good advance curve from the factory and is already set up for that cam. Just wire in a duraspark box, HEI module, or MSD box and you're good to go. If you already have a nice aftermarket dizzy, then I understand. If you...

    9" Rear End

I put one under my car. I just got new wheels with 1 more inch of backspacing. If you got this rear and wanted the late model 17" bullitt wheels, I believe you wouldn't need wheel spacers (for the rear). Also, that pinion cover plate could be worth something if it's out of a GT car.

New to Stangnet. Introduction and pics of my ride. DUW!

Dude, I think I saw you on the 101 last weekend, going south. I was in my red & white 65 fastback. I remember the color and the rims. Nice car.

New clutch – jerky during feathered take off - ?

I also have clutch chatter occationally, usually from sitting in traffic. You are supposed to seal the threads when you bolt the flywheel to the crank (since 302 cranks are drilled all the way through). I didn't do that on mine, so some oil may have worked its way through and gotten to the...

    T5 tranny

If you get one on ebay, shipping is gonna be a lot. There are some great deals in the recycler if you look for awhile. I had to get a bell cause for $30 the guy didn't include one with the tranny. The bell was $40 from a different guy on the recycler. I had to buy a new flywheel and clutch...

A needed increase in hp, any suggestions...

The F4B is supposed to be a great intake. A used 4bbl carb shouldn't cost too much. You will need intake manifold gaskets, carb base gasket, and RTV as well.

    T5 tranny

It grinds into 2nd at high RPM. Other than that, it usually works good. I got the 89 cause it was cheap. I would like to get a 90+, or better yet a cobra one. I really think the ratios are better in the cobra tranny (2.95 1st, .63 5th). The guy delivered it for free since he worked near my...

    T5 tranny

Got my used 89 trans for $30. That's a steal though. The guy selling it said it whined-- he wasn't kidding, but it's been in service for more 2 years and has been to the strip a few times. If you are in ontario, california-- look in the recycler for a tranny. that's where i found mine.

    65 Fastback Project

Cool. I'd love to see it and hear it. Let me know when you're coming and I'll try to be around. I really want to check out the clutch pedal effort and see how loud the car is. What exhaust/mufflers did you go with? I still need to get back to LA and pick up my front rims.

    differential removal need help

Try jacking up the pumpkin. The gasket and/or RTV that is on there holds the pumpkin to the housing very well. I used small screwdrivers, then larger ones to start prying them apart (mine wasn't in the car though). It was a PITA.

    Water Pump Question ???

I'm not sure how well it will fit the timing cover, but you can try a granada water pump (iron) or a 80's to early 90's crown vic or towncar. The later model non-HO 5.0s are supposed to be standard rotation. I don't know what timing cover I have on my 302, but the water pump from a 77 granada...

    T5 conversion advice, please

Was your 4sp a T10 or a toploader? I had a toploader and the slip yoke worked fine in the T5. The tranny mount was also the same part (from a toploader), you just use the other holes -- (left & right) instead of the original holes (front and back). I used the ron morris crossmember, but it...
