    www.ultrastang.com should have all the info you need. IIRC, the 65-66 mustangs and the 57-59 housings are 52.25 or 52.5" (it's in the link). Sounds like you scored big! IF it is a 57-59 medium bearing housing, your old axles should work fine (brakes too).

    The clicking noise could be an exhaust leak or noise in the valve train. My mustang is my only car, so I rely on it to work right (but I don't drive daily-- maybe weekly).

    NO, it won't work. You need a disc/drum master. I used a 74 maverick non-power master cyl. I think it has one of the smaller bores (15/16" or so). Maybe one for a 68 mustang with manual brakes would work too :P . You can get an adjustable propotioning valve. I am not sure what setup a 68...

    IIRC, I think you can only stroke a 360/390 to 410 by using a 428 crank. I don't think you can bore it enough to get 427/428. Could be wrong though. My 2 cents is to keep a small block. Is that T5 really gonna work behind a FE? By the time you're done upgrading the drivetrain and the 390...

    G-Force T-5 or Tremecs New TKO 500 Tranny?

    The G-Force t5 will be a better fit than the tremec. In general, to get a good driveshaft angle, you need to do some cutting to the tranny tunnel for a tremec (not always the case though). The g-force is supposed to be pretty stout as well. If you don't need OD, maybe consider a toploader.

    The granada rear is supposed be close as well. Any 9" pumkin will work. If you get a big bearing rear, I don't think you can use the medium bearing axles. Pretty sure the inner race is a different size. The wagons and rancheros had the big bearings in '57-'59.

    It shouldn't be too much of a deal to get axles. I think the Versailles axles are a bit longer from the bearing to the axle face than other fords, so you would need to give that dimension. The caliper mount is kinda wierd too-- may not be an issue though. If it is, the 1995+ explorer brakes...

    You could probably sell the '58 housing and pumpkin for a decent amount, and then go buy a t-lock. That's what I would do.... Or use the 3.70 open in the mean time. Man, you have 2 of the most desirable rear ends to classic mustang owners!

    As far as the ground wire, mine is now bolted to the bellhousing and to the brake master cylinder. Anywhere that is non-painted and that connects the motor to the body is what you're looking for. As P.I. said, check the timing too. Mine is at 12* and can be hard to start when warm...

    Which track are you going to? Also, I'm surprised you picked up any time without an air cleaner. I always heard the base is supposed to help direct air into the carb, kinda like a very short velocity stack.
