    I found a CAI...

It does, but the filter I am using is a K&N. You can always delete the stock airbox and put a conical air filter on the end of the rubber pipe that attached to the airbox.

    I found a CAI...

Honestly, you can do that, but there are much cheaper ways of making a better flowing intake. I took the air inlet restrictor off my stock airbox and then installed a K&N filter in it. Then I took the air silencer out and cut the guts out of it. It basically makes it a high-flow intake as there...

i need help with my winter car!!!

The 2.3L in your car is not the same 2.3L that is in the mustang. Your 2.3L is what Ford termed the "HSC" engine. It is OHV and is basically a straight six with 2 cylinders cut off of it. The 2.3L in the mustang is OHC and is a unique design. But, as for your high idle issues, I would again...

    advance problem

I assume you mean that when a timing light is pointed at the crankshaft pulley, there is no advance past initial base timing. Your 1985 is equipped with the Ford EEC IV electronic control system and utilizes a feedback carburetor and the TFI IV ignition system. I'm sure you have already noted...

    Loud ticking i mean LOUD!

Agreed. Did you do an engine swap or did you mean SOHC 2.3L? Anyway, this could be a multitude of problems. Anywhere from failed engine internals, to a cracked flywheel, to an automatic transmisson issue. But, if you did lose oil pressure, I would say it is the engine. Your tachometer issue is a...

    so I bought this car

Try here: http://www.txchange.com/sk.htm I think I had enquired at NAPA at one time about one and they said they may be able to get one.

    so I bought this car

Sounds like work is going well on it. As for the transmission shifing harshly, I will suggest some things to do to it to GREATLY improve it's life on this earth. The A4LD automatic is junk. They have a very good track record of blowing up, and if yours is shifting hard already, it is time for...

    car wont start

There could be a few issues here. First off, is your starter solenoid good? That is what relays the power to the starter. Also, is the solenoid getting a 12V signal from the ignition switch through the wire hooked to the solenoid? I would also consider replacing your ignition switch. It sounds...

    fuel but no pressure help!

Try Ford, but that's a long shot. If you can't get one from them, maybe try NAPA or one of the other parts stores, but I don't remember any of them stocking anything more than a few fittings. If all that fails, call up a few local junkyards. They are bound to have a good one for you.

    fuel but no pressure help!

A friend of mine had a similar issue with his 88 turbocoupe. The pump would run and push volume, but with no pressure. Turned out the pump was shot and when it encountered resistance did not pump pressure, just volume. Double check yourself to make sure that in fact you are low on pressure...

    power windows

The power window motor is riveted in on the backside of the inner door shell. Look at the door shell and you will see some rivets in it. Feel behind there and you will find your motor. Follow your door wiring harness and you will find the electrical connector for it. Before you go through...

    motor problems

Did the timing belt snap per chance?

    need swap info

The 91 A4LD is different. The 87-89 A4Ld's only have 1 solenoid on them to lock the converter. The 90-93 A4LD's have 2- 1 for the converter, and the other is for the 3-4 shift.

    1986 2.3 Electrical Problems & Cooling Fan

I can actually answer all 3 of your questions. The gauges moving would be a failing instrument cluster voltage regulator. It is mounted to the back of the instrument cluster and is plugged into it with what looks like a 9V battery type connector. I think NAPA and Advance Auto/Auto Zone still...

    91 v6 mustang

The 3.8L out of an 83-86 mustang/capri/cougar/thuderbird/marquis/LTD/continental is the same engine as the 94-04 3.8L, however there were of course many design modifications done. I don't know how much actually interchanges or swaps, but it is the same engine. As a side note though, this engine...

    2.3 head shaving

From what I have been told, milling the head to just below the lowest intake bolt holes will yield around 12:1 compression. As cams go, you already have a factory roller cam, so if you can find an old Ford Motorsport A237 camshaft, that will go right in it's place as it is made for the roller...

I need some help, cars broke :(

Agreed on both posts. I would first replace the ignition module. If that doesn't do it, check to make sure your timing belt has not jumped.

    suspension question

From what I have been told, if you mill the 2.3L head down to where it is just below the lowest intake bolt holes, that is about 12:1 compression.

Tachometer at zero, poor engine performance

Sounds like your ignition module may be going out. If you have the 8 spark plug engine, it is a grey rectangular object mounted to your intake manifold. If you have the earlier 4 spark plug engine with a distributor, it is the rectangular object on the distributor. Replace it before it totally...

    timing belt broke! need help

I would say yes you would have to remove the crank pulley. It's not so much the pulley itself, but the belt guide behind it that is the issue. As stated above, it is pretty near impossible to snake that belt in without removing it.
