    Cheap Rack-in-pinion conversion

With your Randals rack, how much turning radius did you lose compared to the stock unit?

    2005 seats in a 69 fastback

Can you get them without the SRS side airbag? They are awful comfy but finding a used set that isn't nuked is a little tough.

Who's running a roll bar or cage?

I'm going to buy an autopower with the rear seat cross bar - strictly so I can attach the four point belts at shoulder height.

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

By any chance do you have the vacum advance line still connected when you are setting the timing?

Complete 3G alt Upgrade kit source?

That's the same setup I have, save I scrounged the fusable link/charge lead from the taurus that provided the alternator. I didn't want to look at the fuse.

Any suggestions on a roller motor build?

If you drop a set of AFR 165's and 1.7 roller rockers on your stock shortblock, it'll make around 400. Ford 302 V8 Engine Buildup- Car Craft Magazine A 347 with bigger AFR's and a single plane will make much more than 400.

    3G alt conversion questions (w/pictures...)

It's a 1/2" impact wrench and one 1" socket. Takes about 3 minutes to swap them, including waiting for the air compressor to pump up.

Just use V belts and the pulleys and bracket you have now. Why rework the wheel?

    3G alt conversion questions (w/pictures...)

I grabbed the fusable link between the alternator and the factory fusebox. I bought the harness and the external voltage regulator (the dummy box for the charge light) and the pulley from somebody, but I don't remember who. These guys sell them too. Ford Fuel Injection 3G Install Tech...

    3G alt conversion questions (w/pictures...)

Here's mine: I think mine came off a 1994 Taurus with a 3.0L v-6. I wanted the one with the small case and the small ears, but I think all of them will work if your using vbelts.

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

I had mine set at 34 degrees with the distributor locked out for a while. It drove fine. It was a little hard to start if it was warm, but I didn't have the retard function from the MSD you do now......just something to think about.

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

I'm almost 100% sure it's cam walk. Did you check the camshaft endplay when you swapped the timing chain? You said theres fuel in the intake tract. Is it coated or is it puddled?

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

While we are working on the carb, should we check the tire pressure, do a brake inspection, and send the battery out to be load tested? I don't have a problem fixing the carb, but c'mon - first things first.

Just go try your timing light on a known good car.

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

It's not the carb. I think the guy on the MSD forum figured it out: How do you check for cam walk in a SBF?

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

I think you need to call MSD. This is an ignition problem. The carb floats have nothing to do with the engine jumping from 0 degrees advance to 25-45 degrees at idle.

    t5 wont go in

What fork and TO bearing? Are you going to use a cable clutch or a z bar? (I guess that's the same question.)

    Trouble picking out headers

My JBA's cleared the Z bar after I took a torch to them and clearanced them. Same for the steering box. I think you can get a power steering ram drop bracket, which opens up your header selection to long tubes..........

    Today I drive the stang

I'd like to have a '74 450 like the president. That's a much more baller car than you think it is - provided you want to run in the Mercedes circles.
