Need to start car w/o using key

This is why it takes four seconds to hotwire a vintage Mustang.

    Spring Saddles- Poly or Roller?

On a project of this magnitude $125 for roller perches is a given.

    Food for Thought

This is a great thread! I can finally say what I've been thinking for so long: I can't BELIEVE that people will put themselves into hawk buying a fancy car and/or hopping up their ride. :bang: More than ever, it seems like people want their Golden Years right off the bat without waiting...

    '68 Steel Valve Covers?

I wish I had your valve covers for my '68! Ironically, I have valve covers from a 1983-ish GT, the ones that say "Powered By Ford." In answer to your question, I'll be surprised if they fit your roller rockers... please let us know!

What does this door tag mean on a 69?

Those ID tags and rivets look pretty crappy for a mega-bucks collector car. When my buddy repainted his 1987 GT, we did it right unlike on this Boss-Nine. :nonono: KK429... nothing special. Hold out for one of the original Bullitt movie stunt cars instead. :bs:

    what could be wrong

If it just started it could be fuel related. Are you buying lower-octane gas than before? Or maybe they started blending in octane? Or maybe the local stations have switched to winter fuel which is more volatile and prone to dieseling? Any of these could be a factor, if the dieseling just...

    Puttin' her away

I sincerely think you're doing more harm than good, not to mention wasting gasoline. Most guys change the oil before and after storage, put in fuel stabilizer, and leave the car sitting untouched all winter.

Show your beaters, let's see them.

Here's my daily driver/winter beater, a 1996 Probe GT. When I put on the 15" steel wheels and knobby tires it's great in the snow.

    Puttin' her away

Don't jack up your car, the suspension doesn't like to be unloaded and the original reason for it--flat spotting the tires--isn't a concern with modern radial tires. Fuel stabilizer is a must, I use the no-name stuff from CarQuest. Stabil is good too but damn it has a really annoying bottle.

    Well, I sold Eleanor ....

It's awesome to hear about someone doing the right thing even though he doesn't have to. Because it's the honourable thing to do. I wish people like you were the rule rather than the exception. Thanks for restoring a bit of faith in the human race. :flag:

If you're thinking of buying this car (1967 GTA)

The ad is no longer available. You may have prevented someone from getting ripped off, good job! :nice:

    Let the price gouging begin.....

It's supply and demand--if there is a sufficient "supply" of impatient people who HAVE to have the new Mustang before everybody else in their neighbourhood, then the dealers would be crazy not to "demand" a price well over sticker. As the saying goes: A fool and his money are soon parted...

Whats the dumbest mod youve seen someone do to their car?

http://www.laughatrice.com/ and http://www.anti-rice.com/ come to mind. In the non-ricewagon realm I suggest that the Eleanor body kit is the stupidest mod around. Oh wait, that is in the rice realm I guess. :nonono:

Photochop request - anyone? Wheel pic request - 65/66 with TT2s

A while back a buddy of mine photochopped some 17" TTII's on my '68. It's not the model year you're looking for but you'll probably get the general idea.
