    just a shot in the dark but the clicking sound would either be heat or pressure, i wonder if somehow the fuel is being put into the cylinder after shut down and the fuel is pressurizing the cylinder and the clicking is from the pressure working its way out.???? or could you be out of time and it...

    i don't know if this will help but when i put the 1.7's on my gt40's they would hit the oil baffle on the passenger side. it was just enough that when you forst started it it was quiet but i guess when it got oil soaked you could hear it if you have a cam it could be the springs as well.. but...
