Note however that they do not list a 2.73 for a mid-80's 5 speed... the lowest they show is an 18 tooth for a 3.08. However there is a 17 tooth for an 83-95 manual 5 speed...     Is it me, or the angle of the pic... in pics 4, 5, and 6, it looks like the lower control arm bolt is all the way at the top of the bushing, not centered. Like the bushing is totally wasted and the control arm has fallen down.

    I had a very difficult time with mine once. Shot some lube up in the spring release area, tried pushing it together and pulling it apart to work the lube in there. Finally it just came apart so easy.... click.

    That is weird. I'd pull the valve covers and see what's wrong. If it will do it after just spinning the engine on the starter, then with the valve covers off you can get a better idea.

    Hissing from the FPR area... right around the corner of the lower intake from there is the PCV. Make sure the hose is on tight and that the pcv is seated correctly in the grommet. Anything wrong here can give ya a vac leak that can cause all of the probs you've listed.

    Micrometer or calipers. Be sure you can measure to .000", not just .00". Thousands of an inch. You can find the stock sizes in most any decent service manual.
