Mine are just spongey and soft and i've tried bleeding without much success and replacing all four pads, you can lock up the fronts but you have to stand on them.
Mine was whining but still worked so i changed it, it was quiet for a week and the remanufactured one started whining :(
I put in some lucas oil (discount auto parts) that is supposed to help quiet it, it helped some but it still whines a little.
I haven't had mine dynoed yet but those numbers seem extremely low to my uneducated eye, but then again if you still have the stock exhaust that might explain some of the bottleneck as well.
There may be something to that, i'm running 16degrees of timing on 87 octane with no pinging
This is auto computer with 5 speed tranny conversion
I'm not the only one that had to trim the lower rubber boot am I? Because the triax has a wider base than the stocker and it wouldn't fit right unless i trimmed some of the boot off. I'll feel like a real idiot if it actually fits without trimming lol
Maybe even a bad u joint. If it turns out that way get an aluminum d/s, $150-175 brand new and it includes both front and rear u joints, but since you feel a problem while still at idle i doubt it's that, but you mentioned it was bad at 5500rpms so who knows.
Agreed the shifter install is very easy, getting the top two bolts out from the rubber boot are a pita but nothing that a small wrech doesnt work on. The shifter stops are very easy also. I had to cut my lower rubber boot a little to get the shifter to fit right, it is bigger around than the...
i would think it is coming from somewhere in the engine. You typically get non-engine vibrations around 2500rpm (the drone zone) because thats when the exhaust causes the most vibration in the car. Maybe its even the engine mounts or tranny or driveshaft?
as stated above, the aluminum driveshaft is a really cheap and easy mod which also replaces your worn out U joints at the same time. You can get them for $150-175
i love mine, the 70mm accufab t/b helped, and then i put on my 76mm maf and that helped again, you could feel the performance increase in sotp from both of those mods after having the intake on first.
