    67 Restomod Progress w/Question

It sounds like we still have a problem with the timing; are you sure that the SPOUT is connected? Also, when you say the 10-degree mark on the distributor, where are you getting that mark from? I don't recall ever seeing any marks of that type on the distributors of these cars. There is...

    DIN Radio install into 1969

I have the black version of this bezel, and I have to say that it is without a doubt one of the cheapest, most flimsy pieces of crap I've ever purchased. I had to glue in wood to the bottom portion below the radio to stiffen it up to the point where it would support a radio. In...

    Magnaflow Question

Well, here's exactly what I said: " . . . I seriously doubt that you have modified your car more than I have . . ." Now, since you have all your mods listed in your signature, and since the pictures clearly show anything that would affect exhaust placement - except for an electric fuel pump -...

    Magnaflow Question

You may want to measure it--crush benders typically reduce pipe size by 1/8" to 1/4" or more, and looking at the pictures you posted, it looks like at least 1/8" and probably more that the diameter of the pipe has been reduced by. Also, the tailpipes aren't completed yet, and I guarantee that...

    Magnaflow Question

You should have gone with the Magnaflow kit--contrary to what you posted previously, your muffler shop used the standard crush bender to bend the pipes, and as such, the pipe diameter has been reduced by as much as 1/4".

    Magnaflow Question

There are pipes included with the kit that go forward from the "X-pipe", and it looks like they will go to a set of full length header collectors (I didn't use them, because I custom-fitted the "True-X" Magnaflow muffler, and as such, used a couple of 90-degree bends on each side to make an...

    Magnaflow Question

Unless you are going to a muffler shop where they have a mandrel tubing bender, you're probably going to be MUCH better off getting the Magnaflow kit, because it has full mandrel bends on everything, and you can get the whole 2-1/2" kit for $351 shipped from Performance Peddler. The mufflers...

Why Can't I stop My 351w From Dieseling (Engine Runon)

That's a good point there, and I should have been more descriptive with the details of how to do this . . . if you're not familiar with how to do it, it might not work out too well. But--if you pour a little bit of the water at a time (a small stream), with the engine at a very high idle...

Why Can't I stop My 351w From Dieseling (Engine Runon)

Well, there are actually a few more things that can contribute to or even cause runon * Idle speed too high--this is why there were idle solenoids on some cars that did not have A/C * Ignition timing too far advanced As has already been mentioned, carbon building can cause this...

    67 Restomod Progress w/Question

I should probably clarify--when setting the idle, you just disconnect the wiring to the MAF sensor, and remove the SPOUT connector from the distributor; then--you set the idle speed to 550RPM. Once you get that set, then you would want to re-connect the MAF wiring and set the timing on it to...

    67 Restomod Progress w/Question

Hi, Mark--you haven't indicated whether you performed any of the actions I mentioned--set the idle speed, the TPS and the timing as I mentioned. Every single thing you have described can be traced back to these being not set correctly, or bad sensors--not bad injectors. If you haven't done...

    67 Restomod Progress w/Question

If you haven't done so already, you might want to check out the forums at EECTuning.org • Index page They have a wealth of information there . . . If I were to guess, it sounds to me like perhaps don't have the idle speed or the TPS or perhaps the timing adjusted correctly. Maybe...

Help with Power rack and pinion for 1969 mustang 302v8 power steering?

Well . . . as far as conversions go, the AJE is the most "factory" of any of them, because it matches a Fox-body Rack and SN95 spindles, which is what you do when you install the M-2300-K Cobra Brake Upgrade onto a Fox Mustang. As such . . . I would think that this conversion kit would have...

Help with Power rack and pinion for 1969 mustang 302v8 power steering?

AJE has been around for years--they have real big follwoing in the Fox and SN95 crowds. I've never heard of Maval, but everybody has heard of Randall's Racks . . . Which is why I posted what I did--the rack kit alone from Randalls is $1700 . . . Don't get me wrong--it's a quality kit...

Help with Power rack and pinion for 1969 mustang 302v8 power steering?

One option that was *not* covered in that article, and one which IMHO is a far better choice is the AJE conversion: 64-70 Mustang Not only do you get a power rack kit (which uses a standard Fox-body rack), you also get a tubular K-member, which provides additional space (the motor mounts...

    new 392 but old exhaust

bnickel, I've got the same philosophy! I understand and can appreciate a nice sounding engine, but I don't feel like it necessarily has to be LOUD to accomplish that! The setup you describe doesn't sound that much different than the one I'm working on right now, except instead of using 24"...
