    Hot rod cams

Hey gman, have you had your car on the dyno? I'm just curious what kind of numbers you're pulling. I'm interested in getting the stage 2 cams, and I already have the same intake and comparable mods, I'm looking for a rough estimate on what I'd make before the spray.

    Shelby/Kicker Shaker speaker upgrades

ROE :: Car Audio :: SPL :: Community Steve Meade Designs (SMD) Both of those are great forums, I recommend joing the realm of excursion one, there are some SERIOUS SQ guys on there. Just DO NOT mention JL on that site, they will rip you to shreds, it is a VERY over rated and over priced...

    Shelby/Kicker Shaker speaker upgrades

I recommend the shaker 500 and then adding a q-customs sub enclosure for the trunk. The JL stealthbox is NOT top of the line stuff for the mustang lol. And there are WAY better SQ amps out there for the same money than the JL stuff. Honestly, search any audio forum and see how bashed JL...

Alloy Mustang with Torch Red Hood?

Would you be making the vehicle two tone? If you're just swapping the hood and that's it, I think it would look like you wrecked your car and just picked up a hood off another car and slapped it on. A nice two-tone job might not be bad, but I think just a different color hood would look weird...

    Shelby/Kicker Shaker speaker upgrades

I haven't seen anything BAD about it. I'm sure if you just picked up a 5 channel amp, some 6x8's, the Q-customs enclosure for the mustang, and a reasonable sub, you'd have much better sound for the money. Honestly, the interior speakers, if replaced, need to be amped for you to get any better...

    shaker 500 help

Yes, a partially blown speaker is bad, it's permanently damaged at that point. And he did say that it was affecting the sound, so that would explain him being able to tell the difference between when they were fine and when they became damaged... I doubt it's the amp since he's talking about...

    shaker 500 help

15 watts RMS, yes they CAN die a slow death, assuming he had the bass cranked, it would start sending a clipped signal, but not enough of one to pop a coil instantly, but enough to slowly burn it and cause it to slowly lose power handling ability... So yes, they aren't either good or bad, they...

    shaker 500 help

Did you mess with the EQ on the radio? Odds are, if you cranked the bass or lowered the treble a lot, or just had the volume cranked in general, that you've clipped the weak factory speakers (read: CRAP factory speakers) that came with the 500, burned the coils, and are now in need of new...

    Pioneer AVH-P3200dvd head unit

Let me check and see if I can find the part numbers I used, I have an 06 GT that HAD the factory shaker 500 and I put a Kenwood DDX-7019 touchscreen and navi into. And I didn't splice anything on mine, I always use harnesses. Let me check and I'll PM you if I find them.

Help - Replace a MACH 460 head unit with OEM SAT-ready non- MACH head unit?

For the money, you'd be WAY better off just going aftermarket than trying to splice in another OEM radio.

    Sound quality questions and help

Well, your best bet is to ALWAYS leave the H/U's EQ flat, otherwise when you start attempting to boost certain frequencies instead of cut frequencies that are loud, you'll drive an amp into clipping and burn some coils on speakers. Set your EQ to flat, and then cut any frequencies that are loud...
