    no rear brakes

It's also possible that there is an internal leak in the MC. I've seen leaks into the brake booster from the rear of the MC. You can unbolt the MC and pull it away from the booster slightly and a leak will reveal itself there. Brake fluid here will damage the booster diaphram. Once any...

    Turning Noise

Get under the car and tighten the Track-Bar mounting bolts and try it again. This is a somewhat common issue. GT

    Intermittant almost misfire feeling

When I removed the COP assemblies, they "looked" alright. Soft, plyable, didn't seem to be possible that there was a problem. I even tried cleaning them up to no avail. Only thing I could figure was maybe they were carbon tracking. The car even starts up with more vigor now. GT

    1st Experience With American Muscle

This deleted e-mail wouldn't happen to still be in your "Recycle Bin" or in a mail folder called "Deleted Items" would it?? I have never had an issue with AM. GT

    Intermittant almost misfire feeling

OK. Delt with this problem on my daughters '00 Taurus just last week. Replacing the plugs is a good idea if you want, but there is one other thing it can be. Pull one of the COP assemblies out. The lower 6 or 7 inches of the assembly is a long conical rubber tube with a spring inside...

    Eibach Spacers Help!

Where was the plumb line(s) hung from? Can't measure to any sheet metal. Measuring from fender sheet metal to outer tire sidewall is never very accurate to say the least. The plumb lines need to be hung from the LCA's mounting bolts at the chassis. Outboard sides. Then use a long yard...

    Gear question...

Installing a new ring & pinion set is nothing less than an artform. Being done right can mean the difference between a noisy 30K gear life and an indefinite gear life. In my experience, once you go lower than a 3.73:1 ratio, there is usually a slight whine to them that increases as the...

    car moves right when stopping

I had this same problem on my wifes '08 Escape. The RF caliper was not fully releasing. Found that Ford has had many models with this problem. I replaced the caliper and machined the rotor. Problem disappeared and it behaves very well. My daughter has a '00 Taurus that exibits the same...

Rattle and Not Stopping Like Before

Sound like a problem I had. I replaced the rear pads with the ceramics and installed an aftermarket hardware kit (anti-rattle clips, rubber bellows, etc.) and had a rattle at day one. I went back to Ford for the OEM hardware kit and the rattle has never returned. The aftermarket clips...

    MOTOR TREND

I'd sure drive one! I love the V8 powered "hatches" and Cobra II's. My '75 Camaro Type LT w/ 350 2bbl.(my first car) wouldn't get out of it's own way. GT

    Clutch Cable Adjustment

If it's like the later cars with the OEM cable & plastic quadrant, adjustment is done by placing your foot underneath the clutch pedal and giving it a firm pull upwards toward the dash. If it needed readjusting, you will hear a click or 2 of the quadrant's teeth. GT

Trans flush or drop the pan?

My practice with auto's has been to flush the trans every 40K, changing the filter every other time. Local Ford techie seemed to think that was a good practice. GT

Cruise Control not working, Horn works????

Seems there is a contact ring in behind the steering wheel. If the connection is lost, obviously horn and/or cruise control function is lost. Just throwing that out there. GT

    Think i got something rare?

Exactly. My wife used to have a '93 LX 2.3L. The dual plugs were to improve emissions but the way they were set-up, it looked to me that the plugs fired at all times regardless of the load. GT
