    Front sway bar end links

A good "Rule of Thumb" is to tighten them until the bushings are about half of the uninstalled height. GT

Are 64 1/2 Stangs still sought after?

He probably thinks the 64.5's never had generators or entry level 13" wheels either. Takes all kinds. GT

    Tailgaters

Yea, the tailgating is dangerous and frequently practiced here in Nashville. What really pisses me off is following a string of traffic in the middle lane, looking in the rear view mirror and finding a 60K to 80K pound loaded semi sitting 10 feet off your a$$. Does he think he can actually...

    What's it worth... 1969 Fastback 390 auto

Check the VIN closely. That could be a '69 GT. These were kinda overshadowed by the MACH 1 introduction that year. GT

What should tire pressure be at to prevent flat spots?

Any tire utilizing nylon belts can or will form flat spots after sitting for long periods of time. Especially in colder weather. Bias construction OR radial. Many of the H rated and all of the Z rated "W" suffix & "Y" suffix radials today use 1 or even 2 nylon cap belts to keep tire composure...

Lets talk clutch adjustment, and squeeky when pressing down clutch?

As far as adjustment, I pay no attention to any gap at the firewall adjuster. I go for the 1" freeplay at the top of the clutch pedals travel. I installed the Fiore quad & firewall adjuster along with my existing OEM cable 3 years ago, adjusted the cable for the 1" pedal freeplay and...

    Buying tires

I'm running a set of Riken Raptors. Very good tire for a DD. 35 psi front / 30 psi rear has worked very well for me. I've done some tire mounting myself over the years. It is certainly not rocket science. GT

1964.5 Mustang Indy Pace Car Interior

As I remember, the pace cars were available with the standard interior as well as the "Pony" interior option. The pony option includes a wood grain dash & steering wheel, running horse seats and deluxe paded door panels with upscale hardware. A little research is in order here. GT

looking for a used 4.6 sohc for my 96 gt

If it were me, I would do as posted before. Replace a '96 Romeo with a '02+ Romeo. Pay very close attention to casting numbers. Do your research here. People at salvage yards will tell you anything you want to hear. "OH! Yea, it's out of a Mustang. They are all the same....". GT

Throwout bearing failures - is there a reason?

I've read on different forums that the TOB should be packed like a wheel bearing before installation. Is that even possible? Just throwing that out there. GT

    Brakes Question

You may have a partially frozen caliper. I've had to replace the RF caliper on my daughters '00 Taurus and the RF on my wifes '08 Escape. Machined the rotor & replaced the caliper... problem gone. Weird that it always seems to be the RF I hear of. GT

    New wheels and new problems

You can always threaten them with a "Loss of Value" estimate / payoff. It's nearly always higher than the repair estimate. My wife pulled this years ago with the repair of her '93 LX. They replied with, "OK Mrs. Trumbo, we'll replace the door skin, no problem". They wanted to "bondo" a...

Better using OD? Or turn off OD?

O/D doesn't help much on mileage below 45 mph or so. I usually leave it off on my wifes Escape & daughters Taurus until about 45 mph. That last shift from 3rd to 4th over and over in city driving, unnecessarily raises trans temps & increases wear. GT

Shifter becomes stiff after long highway drive

I take it the OEM shifter did not exhibit this issue..... Did you call MGW? Seriously, give them a call and explain the issue your having. They may just exchange the shifter and do a tear down & inspect yours for defects. A little "R&D", if you will. I've heard nothing but good things...

    trick flow heads

I have read an artical concerning the overall head length. In this customer's scenario, the heads hung out over the leading edge of the block slightly causing a timing chain cover fitment/seal issue. Apparently Trick Flow has a special "stepped" timing cover seal to remedy the problem. There...

Can a clutch slip on deceleration?

If it doesn't slip upon acceleration, it won't on deceleration. That almost sounds like the "hanging idle" issue some just can't stand. It's originally designed to do this for emissions reduction. Your probably just noticing it when it's in gear rather than out of gear. I have noticed mine...
