    HAHA - you're a ****ing idiot.

    Removable Hardtop

Listen. You COULD use a coupe for this. Would I? No. You can reinforce the back half of the car all you want (if you make a targa from a vert it will still have a b pillar, it's not a targa top without one) if you rolled the car the front windshield will come down on your skull it would be over...

    Removable Hardtop

the verts "A" Pillar (the part that the windsheild is connected to) is beefier and made to hold the weight of the car in the event of a rollover. That's pretty much the only reason I think it'd be a smarter choice. Better safe than sorry.

    Removable Hardtop

even with flsfc's you're not going to see the type of rigidity provided by a complete roof, but I'm sure it would help. I think the reason the vert would be a smarter choice is that you're already dealing with a car that was designed to not have a roof, instead of hacking the roof off a car that...

    Photoshopped Paint Job

wheels first for sure. I think the black top looks good but I could go either way on the hood. Looks alright, just not something I'd do to my car.

    Removable Hardtop

Good tip. I'm pretty sure that there was a limited run of 95 cobras that came with a completely removable hardtop roof, so it's entirely possible to start with a vert and make a targa car with it. I'd source the new top from an old v6, considering the 94-04 all had the same upper roof structure...

Dude with Black GT with the fins on the roof.

to play the devils advocate, couldn't you apply that to ever blower company other than eaton? Aren't garrett turbos the industry standard? In my industry the standard is a software/harware called Protools, and it's certainly not the best the field has to offer, at least in my opinion. Sometimes...

Finally broke down and took it to the track

sumitomos seem like a 50/50 shot when it comes to quality. I've heard of a lot of people that can cut some 2.1s and 2.2s with them and love them and personally mine make my first gear useless and I hate them. I'll be going back to kdws after these for sure though.

    Removable Hardtop

that's called a targa top. If you want to get one done, you're looking at some mildly difficult fab work, and it's a tad ricey if you ask me. Also you'd effect the structural rigidity of the vehicle by modifying the roof. It's your car though, so do what makes you happy.

    New 98 GT! (no 56k)

weird, must just be the 94-96s that are unpainted then... Thanks for clearing it up though :nice:

    New 98 GT! (no 56k)

two things I just noticed... How come the bottom half of the bumper is painted body color? Aren't those supposed to be unpainted? also, I just noticed the chrome pipes, Flowmasters?

    Rims & Tire Q's

the moment you kiss a curb you're going to regret running 245s on a 9 inch wheel. If you don't have the money to do it right, why do it?

GM tries to pitch Camaro to gay men

If I recall correctly it wasn't too long ago that ford was swinging for that demo with the cougar. At least it's a performance car... And although it is ugly, I don't think the new mustang is very far ahead in the looks category.

    Theoretical Question

No you could also get 3.08s and 3.27s. Mine happens to have factory 3.27s, which is why I know.:nice:

Question about my cars factory options

hey it's possible you have a 248a, the info I've found is not exactly specific on what the 248a package is other than a delete of all the GT options to a base V6 spec other than GT specifics (engine, transmission, gauges, rear end, etc) I've seen other supposed 248a's that have had very strange...

    platinum plugs vs copper core

 Thanks for the tip Cleetus, you just keep building those engines. I'm sure the knowledge you've garnered in those years is enough to make blanket statements about every engine ever. What's sad is that in your supposed 47 years of building engines, you still haven't learned common...

03 Cobra Heads on 98 GT, worth it?

you can't just swap 4v heads on a 2v bottom end. On top of all the little odds and ends you're going to need, the static compression would be too low. If you're dead set on a 4v, start with a 4v block, otherwise you're going to going to have to replace mostly everything short of the block, crank...
