    Concept vs. Production photos

I actually like the production version better. The headlights are surrounded in black. Which look better with many more colors. The concept has the silver which looks good on the silver car. But it doesn't look as good on the red convertible. Also the side of the car looks better to me on the...

GOT TO SIT IN IT... and TAKE PICS!

Yeah its surprising that Ford released all the details this early (10 months before they hit the dealers) I heard Oct. Now they are going to have big problems selling this years models. I hope they can push it along and come out with the 2005 earlier.

    SHELBY COBRA CONCEPT thread

I would think the Cobra is a go. Shelby didn't come back to Ford to build a few Mustangs with his name on them. He came back for a Cobra. I'd expect the Cobra near the end of GT production. Some things will change from the concept to the production version. Originally the Cobras were built to...

GOT TO SIT IN IT... and TAKE PICS!

I can't wait to sit in one. The front shoulder room is the biggest thing for me. The current mustang is quite tight. And that has really prevented me from owning one. Fat and proud of it.

    '05 aftermarket/mod speculations in here

Ford said the engine is designed to run on 87 octane fuel. So one of the biggest bangs for the buck. Would be a timing adjuster for it. Then you can bump up the timing to run on 93-94 octane. Which may be worth quite alot. I know with the old 5.0 I could chase down cars, of the same year, that...

2005 Mustang mystic paint etc (photoshopped)

I can see by these pictures. That the hard part about what is going to be my next car. Is going to be what color I get it in. It looks so good in all of them. Its going to be a hard decision. Nice Work. Thanks

    Mechanical or Hydraulic Clutch Linkage?

Personaly I'm hoping for the hydraulic cluth. The kind of horsepower that the cars are producing these days really nead the hydraulic in order to use better pressure plates. You can only go so high with the pressure before it becomes a chore to drive. I haven't driven the new Corvette. But if...

    The $20K V8 thread

The suspension (no huge difference in price really), Brakes (larger with the V8), transmission (T5 to Tremec), Rear axle (7.5 inch to 8.8) and wheels and tires. I really can't see a 3V V8 stang for under $20,000 I would be extremely happy to see a little rise over the current GT. You are...

    Will we see a 2005 Mach 1?

Well said. Hey SVTdriver. We might learn to get along after all.

Get me what this guys smoken. I searched for the performance fiqures on the 350Z and going buy the best times. I'd say its a drivers race with a GT or Bullit. And the Mach 1 would easily handle a stock one. We don't even need to mention a Cobra for this matchup.

IRS is not important to me. And if it comes with it I would have to take it out. The performance of an IRS is not that much better than a solid rear axle. I used to street race alot and tore IRS cars up in a car 15 years older. If you think IRS is going to make you faster. Then you need...

just noticed something about the interior

Amen. Does anyone know if the climate controls change colors with the guages or are they the same as the radio. I'm not to concerned if its just the radio.

so when do we get to see a vert?

Yeah its a shame. Hell I'd be happy with T-Tops at this point. I just don't like the soft top. And the targa top would never be around when you needed it.

so when do we get to see a vert?

The retractable hardtop roof is not anything new. And in fact the first car ever to have one was a Ford. It was the 1957-59 Ford Skyliner Look it up. It would be neat to have one. Maybe in a larger car that the roof would actually fit in the trunk. We can always dream.

    Would you rather the '06 Cobra have a S/C V8 or V10?

Hey SVTDriver. Do you want salt or pepper on that hat. And no I don't know your age but I know your generation. To busy saying it can't be done and in that time you should have been finished.

    Would you rather the '06 Cobra have a S/C V8 or V10?

No my friend as the post following yours prove. Your blind and ignorant to the complete process of building cars. You don't shut down the line to run off 100 prototypes when you are just doing a feasibility study. One is all you need. Furthermore as I stated earlier the components are shared. A...

    4.0 V6 in the base 05 mustang

Hi. I would like to comment on the various V6s and also care to speculate a little. First off the 3.8 was a piece of S*@T to begin with when it came out in the early 80s (the first time I saw the write up I wanted to kill the guy who designed it) at the time Busch Grand National Nascar cars used...

    Would you rather the '06 Cobra have a S/C V8 or V10?

Dude your a pipe dreamer. The current mustang chassis dates back to the 77 Fairmont They still made pinto stangs in 78 Unibody construction goes all the way back to the late fifties, early sixties They still make them the same way. Hell the Crown Vic is still on a chassis fron the seventies. Full...
