    Carb Tech

It all depends, a DP will work well with a 5 spd, while a VS is preffered for an auto. A "Double Pumper" is reffering to the fact that it has 2 accelerator pumps in the carb. 1 in the primary circuit and 1 in the secondary. These are also called mechanical secondary carbs. Vacumn...

    pullies!

I'm using the Blueoval Industries ones as well. I ordered the black steel ones which were out of stock, so they sent me the billet aluminum ones for the same price. That is great customer service. BTW: I didn't even say anthing about it either, they just did it.

    Lt's on gt40p's.

Yeah, the Flowtechs are the ones with the slip fit tubes, Summit also sells the same header under they're own name for $95. They come in the Flowtech box with the Summit p/n, and with Flowtech instructions. They are the ones I posted pics of on the first page. Flowtech also makes a matching H...

Or you can be like me and go cheap on both! :D

    Lt's on gt40p's.

Yep, and I had to do some work with a BFH to get them to clear on the #4 plug. You will need 90* wires and a heat bootie on that plug too. I would reccomend tossing the header bolts that come with it and use a set with 3/8, 5/16, or allen heads. I also painted mine with VHT 1200* silver header...

    85 vs. 86 vs. 87> engines

The '85 and '86 motors both had forged pistons, with the '86 getting true flattops with no reliefs. The E5 head is exactly the same as the D9 head used on '79-'84 5.0's, just with the reliefs built in to be able to remove roller lifters, which '85 was the first year the roller cam was used...

How's the fit of hooker 1 3/4" Longtube headers?

Flowtech makes both an H and X pipe with the 3 bolt flange to work with those headers. FYI, Both Hooker and Flowtech are owned by Holley.

    PA preformance starter

Yes it is. but if the price is the same, just get the smaller starter for a '91- up 'stang. It's almost as good, and it's available at your local parts store.

need flexplate: 1978 351W mated to 85 AOD, where?

I noticed a little mis-information kicking around. The AOD flexplate is a 164 tooth. The manual (SROD,T5) flywheel is 157 tooth. So if you have a 28 oz, 164 tooth flexplate, you should be fine. Incidentally, starters will work with either 164 oe 157 tooth flywheels/flexplates. The only thing...

    Used P headers?

Yes, P headers will work just fine on other heads. I would start the bidding at $50 and see how it goes from there. winder: That was a steal!

    83 mustang front brake upgrade

Yes there is. It's not as cheap as the '87-'93, but it involves those calipers. You will need: '87-'93 spindles, rotors, flexlines, and the lincoln 73mm calipers. If you do your shopping in the junkyard, you should be able to do it cheap. I would strongly reccomend that you only use the...

    Starter Sugestions

Your T5 is a 157 tooth, the 164 tooth manual is only used in older cars with toploaders. What FMS means, is that u have to retain the starter solenoid that u already have. Some people have tried to install it thinking it was like a GM starter, and no external solenoid was required.

    Cat backs.....

I really liked the Summit. But I would recommend getting the stainless tailpipes from Dynomax to go with it though.

What are these connections for? Starter solonoid connections *pics*

Maybe this will help... Thick wire(Black/orange stripe or yellow) from Bat. post on the Alt. to the + side of the solenoid, the wire from terminal marked F on the VR to the Field or F post on the alt, and the A and S terminals on the VR get tied together. On my '79 they run to one of the...

    Head Unit Wiring Qs

The second set of colours u listed are a universal aftermarket colour code. Just about any head unit or wire harness you buy use that standard. The factory( any manufacturer) almost never use the same colours for their wiring. Your best bet is to get a Hanes or Chiltons manual and look up the...
