    Motorcraft Plug Wires

The firing order is different between the HO's and standard engines. The difference in wires will be in length. You got the right set.

    Ok Found my Stang

Ha! I was having a brain fart and couldn't remember the wire colour. Pretty sad considering I had to rewire pretty much everything in my '79. :hail2:

    Ok Found my Stang

More than likely the neutral safety is your problem. Either by- pass it or get it hooked up right and the ignition will probably work. If it is the ignition switch, they are cheap and easy to replace, but you need to figure out if it's the switch or if it's missing or has the the wrong...

    Ok Found my Stang

10,000 miles is barely broken in. If it was rebuilt right, and is taken care of, it will last just as long as any other 5.0. As far as the whole H.O./Roller cam thing, just remember that people were making killer power with Flat Tappets long before Hydraulic Rollers were in some engineers wet...

    302 to 302 H.O. Conversion

Close, it's Inline six K member that won't work. The 2.3, 3.8, and 5.0 all share a K member. Also, there's no difference between H.O. and non- H.O. exhaust ports or bolt patterns, so headers work for all of them.

    302 to 302 H.O. Conversion

With what you are starting with, going carb is going to be the best (and the cheapest) bet. That Linc motor will have a flat tappet cam, and there are plenty of flat grinds out there, and they're generally cheaper than a roller too. Grab an RPM or Stealth intake, a dizzy from a '79-'84 carbed...

Help me install upper and lower control arms.

I have the same ones. The install is fairly straightforward, but make sure you have a long breaker bar, 18 an 19mm sockets, and the longest wrenches in the same sizes that you can find. An Air chisel really helps when trying to get the factory LCA bolts out of the lower torque boxes. A little...

Whats the difference in XXX and YYY on the block?

Then why are my '79 and '84 flat tappet blocks XXX blocks? This has been covered many times and the general consensus is, it doesn't mean jack. You can pop off the intake on just about anything and it's 6 one eway or a half dozen the other whether it has a xxx or a yyy cast in it.

    1977 Trans-Am Vs. My Car

Pontiacs engines just are. Doesn't matter if it's a 301 or a 455, there is no big or small block. They all are physically the same size and share the same architecture.

    Plasma?

" She won't take no more than warp 5 Captain, there's too much turbulence in the plasma, I donna know how much longer I can hold her together!" :rlaugh: R.I.P. Scotty. :hail2:

    Quick Tach Q......

The Tach should work fine. If you are using an MSD, or other aftermarket CD ignition, you will need the adapter for your stock Tach, and may need it for the Summit one as well.

    Engine Swap Q?

Those are hyperuetectic coated SpeedPro's. The only disadvantage that hypers have is they are not as tolerant to detonation as a forged piston. They do have a better ring seal and less piston slap on cold starts than a forged piston, and they are WAY better than a cast slug. As long as you're...

Never thought I'd actually do this

Check out this months MM$FF they have a great article for first time racers going to the strip. They basically start with before you leave home all the way too when you leave the track. A lot of that info's already been mentioned, but it never hurts to read up some more!

    Engine Swap Q?

About the only difference is removing the whole shifter on a 5 spd, as opposed to just the linkage on an autotragic.

    Custom cams ...

I think everyone tends to forget that if one of the major cam company's doesn't have the exact grind you want/need, they will make it for you. In fact, there are a lot of grinds in those cataloges that started out as custom jobs for racers. Just about every cam manufacturer is a "custom" cam...

    Cougar AOD ???

The tail shaft is longer on the Cougar/Tbird AOD. Make sure your drive shaft will still fit!
