Dirty Stang + Warm Temperatures = Clean Stang

You still suck :D :D :D j/k How long did it take to clean up and how much longer (if any) was it than your normal clean up?

What are your 2.3 plans for this year?

Things I need to do: Finish building my turbo motor. The block and crank are freshly machined and the new pistons are hanging on the new rods (Diamond/Crower). I just need to get a set of rings and gaskets to put the bottom end together. The head needs machined. I'm sticking with stock...

    My 2.3L N/A Project

So that custom roller cam just drops right in with the stock volvo hardware? Stock followers, etc?

    My 2.3L N/A Project

If you're going to quote me Sparky, at least do it right. The statement was: Why on earth is no one making huge HP with the VOLVO 2.3L the head you covet so much was originally bolted to in Sweden? Why does it only begin to show it's true performance potential when it's cobbled up and...

    My 2.3L N/A Project

You must be Swedish. Seriously, if the Volvo head is the holy grail for 2.3L 4cyl. motors, tell me (PLEASE!!!) why no one is making huge power with the 2.3L 4cyl. THE FRIGGEN HEAD CAME OFF OF IN THE FIRST FRIGGEN PLACE!!!!!! I patiently and calmly await your answer. True Story: The only...

    Hello & have a question !

Stinger Performance has a pinout comparison between the Dual Plug 91-93 ECUs and the earlier Turbo Coupe ECUs. If nothing else, it'll give you a pin for pin listing of what's what on the ECU you have. Check the tech article section on his site for the 91-93 turbo motor swap write-up.

    My 2.3L N/A Project

Who's talking about kits? I'm trying to keep the playing field even. There sure ain't a Volvo head conversion kit. So get your used Volvo head, get it reworked to fit properly on a 2.3, Do all of the fab work for a new intake manifold and exhaust manifold, timing belt arrangement, etc. and...

Bit of a question on the 5.0 brake swap

I haven't donated any, although you do have a good idea. :D :D What I meant was by asking seemingly stupid questions I've been able to keep my blood(and fingers) where they belong. :D

Bit of a question on the 5.0 brake swap

Oh, I don't know, I've gained quite a bit of mechanical know-how by asking "what if" questions. I've also saved a few digits and pints of blood. :D :D

    My 2.3L N/A Project

I wanna see the receipts on a RUNNING $500 dollar Volvo head 2.3 Just staple them to the Dyno sheet. I'll wait. ;) Yup, that's what it takes in these parts to drop a TC motor in a 'Stang with all the trimmin's. Wanna compare paper?

    My 2.3L N/A Project

I'm with you when you're right. Up to now it's been mock-ups and progress reports. Until I read a post titled "I'm changing my Volvo-headed 2.3's oil every 5000mi...Anyone else do the same?" I ain't buying it as the Swedish Holy Grail. Oh KH, before you start throwing stones, make sure your...

Bit of a question on the 5.0 brake swap

Huh? Are you asking about hanging your old front rotors out back? It doesn't work that way. Take a close look at the parts in question and you'll feel silly much like I've done in the past with similar questions.

    My 2.3L N/A Project

Hey Anlushac, do you already have the 200? If you could find a 250, it uses the same bellhousing pattern / flywheel / clutch / pressure plate / making life much easier and clutch selection much broader. the head interchanges between the 200/250 and most if not all of the accessory brackets...

    My 2.3L N/A Project

:bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: That's not the only reason to bore a cylinder. Perfectly good cylinders are bored just to increase displacement. It happens all the time. Nothing wrong with it, the Pope doesn't cry when it happens and no kittens are harmed. :D Yes, the end...

Okay so maybe it is TFI. Yes the driver's side.

    ignition timing...

The SPOUT thing may not be an issue. I just reread your original post and noticed you had a carbed 2.3. It may not have the TFI ignition like the EFI cars did. Does your distributor have (or is supposed to have) a vacuum line running to it? To answer your second question, the notch is on...

    ignition timing...

You don't shoot the timing light at the cam pulley. You point it down at the crank pulley. There's another set of marks on the cover down there and a notch on the crank pulley itself. Also make sure you disconnect the SPOUT connector before you check timing or make any timing adjustments.
