    i used that kit your are talking about and it worked great. Just follow the cd's instructions, very easy to do.

    What is everyones temo usually at?

    mine usually runs about 155-160 on the stock guage. When i go out and shoot it with the infrared gun on the gooseneck it reads about 175-185.

    transmission has to come out. mine is squeaking also, just been putting off the trans removal. Good thing the garage has ac, because 85 degree temps don't get me excited to get underneath the car!

    o rings can still get hard and brittle from age and start to leak. I replaced all mine, recharged it and it works great.

    Do I need my AC recharged?

    mine was leaking, so i put new o-rings on all the hoses and recharged it. Works great and cost me about 45.00 bucks. r-134 conversoin kit and line removal tools included. Pulling the lines loose from the condenser was a PIA though!

    How do i check input shaft endplay!

    going to be doing a bearing retainer soon. What do i need to do to check the endplay and what are the tolerances of it? I already have a magnetic stand and dial indicator. I am guessing just move the input shaft back and forth and check the amount of movement?

    trans. removal tips anyone?

    I have to remove the trans. to do a throwout bearing and possibly a bearing retainer. Any tips for the removal before I start in on it? Anything about the exhaust, or clutch cable i need to know about first? Never taken out a t-5 before, plenty of powerglides, th-350s, and muncies.

    no use to get another car and pay more insurance and taxes if you can make one car get decent gas mileage.
