    how sad is this picture

I'm seeing that same "frowning" affect too. Looks like it gave it's life to save the life of.....the grass around it. Lol. Go figure, only green grass in tyhe field is right around the old run down mustang.

Saved a 65 notchback from the crusher, now what to do?

The Hi-po 289 had the same bore and stroke, but had a 10.0: CR, had solid valve lifters, a 4v carb. Run on super premium fuel with dual exhaust it made 271 brake horsepower at 6000rpm and 312 ft.-lbs, of torque at 3400 rpms. It also had a different cam. I had to re read the rpms for brake...

0.034 is spec gap for spark plugs on the 289. I don't know about the 351s but I do have the manual that says if anyone needs to know.

    Tires rubbing upper control arms

Just put as many back in as you can find (we lost 2/3s of ours. haha) Eyeball it and get it roughly correct, or at least enough that you can drive it to an alignment shop. I wouldn't drive it any more than just to the alignment shop though, until you get it fixed.

    Fiberglass!!

I think carbon fiber is a good idea if it looks decent painted? Which I haven't seen. Stronger than aluminum and lighter than anything, but it would be incredibly expensive.

    upgrades for my engine

Go with vacuum secondaries for a street car. Mechanicals are normally used for race applications, though it doesnt matter other than mechanical will burn more gas.

    What water pump?

I think at autozone they will give you some money for your old one (because they use them to be rebuilt) Might be the same with Napa? It's not a whole lot, something from like 4-6 dollars maybe, but every little bit helps.

Do all headers require a power steering drop bracket?

Exactly like mine on the 66. We didnt have to pull the engine, but we did use a 2x4 to..."maneuver" them into place. They were touching the dust boot and we figure it would melt the rubber in no time so we drilled new holes and moved the mounting bracket about 1/2" further up on the frame, and...

Stuck bolt. How do I get it loose?

I guess I'm just lucky cuz ours came right out. : ) Might wanna wear some gloves and watch your knuckles when you're using that much force. Last winter when we were doing our suspension I was torqueing something to 100 ft lbs or so, and at about 80 ft lbs the socket came off of the bolt, thus...

HELP! I am replacing my Front Suspension today

Lol, along with the "when I did mine" theme, When I did mine me tried that coil spring compressor as well as one that fit on the outside. Neitehr worked so we made our own spring compressor which worked wonderfully.

Stuck bolt. How do I get it loose?

Ummm, I got a much more simple idea, and you won't have to take the bolt out...Take out the bolt on the other side and just swing the thing out of your way, then when you're done you can swing it back into palce and bolt it up.

Do all headers require a power steering drop bracket?

I have some hedman long tubes. The drivers side was a bitch to get in and had clearance problems with the power steering booster underneath, but we moved it just enough to solve that problem. Putting the power steering pump on tomorrow. Looks like there won't be any problems with clearance.

    Fiberglass!!

Hmmm, and how do you suppose you could beat a vette with just headers, an H pipe and an intake?:bs: Not happening, even if your 19666 is as "badass" as you claim it to be in numerous other posts. UNLESSSS.....those 1 1/2" lowering springs add like 300 rwhp?

    C4 install problems

Ya, guy at the tranny shop told me 2 clicks when it turns or soemthing like that. He also said you shouldn't be able to fit your fingers in between the torque converter and the bellhousing when the torque converter is all the way in.

    C4 install problems

We put our c4 in last weekend. The flexplate should only go on one way, because the opposite way it will rub on the block. You put the flexplate on, then the washer type thing (i think it's to reinforce the flexplate.) Torqueing the bolts through the flexplate was tough for us because it turned...
