    console mounted E-brake

Exactly what I did... I cut out the secton around the handle in the 90. Then used my spot weld cutter and removed the bracing from the section of the 90 tunnel. Then I used the top of the 90 tunnel to mark a hole for the cutout on the 65, then cut it out. Took the lower brace and tacked...

    Radio Option for 65/66...

Was surfing arround and found this as a possiblity for the age old delima about cutting the dash in a early mustang. Joes Classic Car Audio Mount the display over the existing dash holes and then put the remainder of the head unit in the glove box. Looks like a great solution, the...

    Resto Mod color choice?

The hood and side scoops came from John's Mustang in Houston, and the apron came from Branda. Just to warn you... the fiberglass parts do not fit. They will require work to make them look right. John

    Door shells for a 66...

The reproduction doors do not fit that well. I had to cut 1/4 inch of the seam off the bottom at the front 1/2 of the door, and spend a lot of time with a hammer and a dolly to get it close. It still is not a good as an original, but it is close enough. If you can, get original doors. They...

Thanks!!! Considering where mine started, anything is possible. Tons of rust and bondo... It really did not look that bad at the start, but the PO left me many land mines... Here is an early picture... John

    Paint Update!!!

Finally got the car back from the paint shop a little over a week ago. The car is now getting close to final look. I thought I would share a quick peek at the car. I still have to install the side stripes mirrors and the remainder of the interior, but at least it looks like a car now. More...

    Thoughts on Tremec's

The 3550 is a stronger transmission, but not knowing exactly your exact combination (hp, gears...), I would recommend the T-5. Do a search on Tremec 3550. You will find many discussions on the need to cut the tunnel to get them to fit. You will not find them for the T-5. I had to cut the...

    Continued thread for my paint

Sweet!!!! Looks great Barton. Your v8 is still sitting in my garage. It looks like it may be another 2 weeks for mine. We just shot the inside of doors and the dash yesterday. Then re-hung the doors, fenders, front valance headlight buckets, stone guard, and head light doors. Maybe it...

    NEW news on the paintjob

Barton, Is this guy going to paint inside the doors? Is he going to pull the rest of the chrome off before painting or is he just going to tape arround it? Just curious... John

    console mounted E-brake

I took a parking brake handle out of a 90 LX. For the cables, I used the Lokar kit to connect it to my Versailles rear disks. It worked great. John

looking for good shop in central texas to tune me 65 resto-mod mustang

Try Colvin Automotive in Austin if you do not mind spending the money. Honestly, I think that it would be a waste of your money based on what you listed for your combo. Another option is set up some time on a weekend, and let me know. I am not that far from you. John

hooker headers and flowmasters in a 65

On mine, I just had to heat up the Flowmaster h-pipe on the driver's side and put a jack between the pipes and spread it apart to get it to align. Make sure to put a block between the pipes on the muffler end of the h-pipe when you do this. Then repeat this process with the pasenger side...
