    Aftermarket Intake

    Are you looking for off-idle power and torque or power more in the higher rpm range? Some of the aftermarket intakes are really targeted towards high rpm motors. I'm sure you can find a Bullitt intake cheaper than a new Trick Flor or Reichard and with some porting I bet it will work nicely.

    Every motor from 99 through 04 has the PI heads and intake. You can buy a handheld tuner to get some more horsepower, or change the rear-end gears for better acceleration. If you do a search on here, I'm sure you'll find a ton of threads on beginning modifications.

    I looked over the surging idle checklist and ran a KOEO test, the car flashed 1-1 for a system pass. I had a hanging idle at ~1500 rpm that was intermittent the last 2 or 3 days. I drove the car yesterday and it seemed to go away, the car idled at lights where it normally does around 950 rpm...

    I would get a breaker bar or something on it if you're using Craftsman pieces. You can always exchange it at Sears if it breaks!:p

    Slp LM1 vs Lm2? Opinion on sound?

    I ran the LM1 on my 97 and I loved the low sound of it. I had a stock midpipe though which I think mellowed out the sound. It definitely pops and gurles on deceleration which I liked, but some people don't.

    Velcro might work, I'm sure it would keep the mat in place. Or you can just leave it out. Mine's been out since day one- it kept sliding up under the pedals:p
