    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

I've read this and have my own opinions about the painless kit. I realize that you use a universal versus a "oem replacement". I used the oem style in a 68 and I can say it was not painless either. I've replace harnesses in 66's twice, both taking a weekend. The 68 painless "OEM" took me...

    Quarter panel replacement cost....

For just the quarter 12 hours may be correct, but what about the taillight panel, the trunk dropoffs, and the wheel wells. You have to have metal to weld to, to begin with. I wouldn't weld a good piece of metal to a bad piece that may need to be replaced sooner than you think. You may get...

    Engine removal

Define limited skills. If you had to could you change the water pump/alternator/intake manifold? Are you going to pull the transmission also? Four bolts for the hood, a couple motor mount bolts, four bolts for the radiator, 4, 5 or 6 bolts for the transmission/bellhousing, somes hoses &...

    Front suspension torq specs

Also tell us if they're OEM style replacements or "upgraded" replacements. Someone such as Global West(example only) usually gives you the specs they want you to use.

Pics from Mid America Ford & Shelby meet today

Pictures don't seem to be loading for me; is that the R model that blew the motor dumping all the oil on the track on Thursday? Anyway 2 cobra replicars got caught in the oil and went agricultural; one cracking a valance and ripping the oil cooler open. The other almost hit the corner...

Anyone have a Steering Box Laying around???

I got my u joint from www.borgeson.com I cut the rag joint off and welded a short stub shaft in the area where I cut the rag joint off. IIRC the spline count is 36 and it's a 3/4 inch shaft.

    Trying to make head selection

I have the twisted wedge heads on a 66 coupe; both JBA shorties and Tri-Y's fit fine. (other than being a PITA to install)

asking price for 66 4 speed

That's a loaded question. LOL Toploader/T-10? Close/Wide ratio? Toploader core price is in the 300- 600 range.

65 A Code Engine Questions (restore to orig)

There's a great book out about Fords small block. IIRC it's by Monroe (Bill???) I'm drawing a blank on the name also. It will tell you everything you need to know and do for this motor. This book will tell you when it changed from 5 to 6 bolt, correct color, etc. I'll look up the name and...

    $$ Questions on my engine

Are you going to sell it as a complete long block with the Dizzy included. Pretty much everything you described? Is it a roller 302? As a runing motor, where they can check compression and check for leaks etc, seeing the aluminum heads, intake and such. I think it's worth more than...

    Mis-Matched Numbers

The body vin is the "Gospel" as far as registrations is concerned. No matter what engine you have, (unless the other two hidden codes are "C") you have an "A" code car. As the others have mentioned there are lots of cases of mis-stampings.

    smoking problem..

Tell them you are fixing it, you're getting a new motor and that it takes a little time for a classic. Then report all the city vehicles for smoking.

    1966 Convertible Accessories

I'm sure most of the major parts houses have them. NPD lists them on page 36 & 37; CJ Pony list the snaps on 170 and the latch hooks on 183. I think both places list them for the same price.

331 motor going to machine shop

This is my opinion only; if you're going to stay with the "stock" GT 40 heads, don't waste the effort on the stroker kit. They don't breathe well enough for a stroker. They can be made to breathe better, but whether or not it's enough i don't know. About two years ago Mustangs and Fords did a...

Do JBA Shorty Headers Fit The AFR Port Shape ?

I know they work fine with my AFR's, although I didn't look at the shape that closely.
