    Coolant leak

Most auto stores have a dye/black light combo for sale (roughly $30). Put the dye in your coolant, run up to temp or drive around for awhile and use the blacklight to find the leak. Works great if you can darken a garage or something.

Help, '68 289 died, neen info on crate motors, and installation!!!

You can get a 50 oz flexplate that will mate to the transmission. Transmission won't care what the imbalance is as long as the flexplate is the correct size to fit the bellhousing and has the correct number of teeth. The 50 oz damper though will need the correct bolt pattern for your...

I've been having problems opening about 33% of the posts altogether. They just never open. I don't get a page not found or any error, it's just plain blank.

    Valve grime - Ideas please

You could also replace 1 qt of oil with 1 qt of ATF, run for 500 miles and change your oil. You'll see the blackest tar/oil you can ever imagine coming out.

    help with bad Negitive camber

From his description, I think 2bav8 is correct, he has a toe in issue not a camber issue. I think the solution is a combination of tie rod/strut rod adjustment.

    Suspension Help

Why do you think you need a complete suspension, give a few details. Jester's correct, you can get most of the components from an O'Reillys and probably other parts places. I just got a set of Lower control arms by Moog from them recently. I know the have the inner & outer tie rods. You...

    Cam Comparison

The question about the heads is a great one. Did you check the valve to piston clearance? The extra lift may require some flycutting? What rockers & lifters did you go with?

    Engine replacement & tranny rebuild

It's probably easier, and you probably already know this, but you don't have to pull the motor to replace the flywheel. Are you going to pull the motor and tranny together? If you're going to pull the tranny seperately, I'd consider leaving the motor in.

    Head gasket?

Any chance it's the intake gasket? If I'm reading your time frame correctly, you installed the EFI 1 year ago and just moved wiring this winter? After installing the EFI intake, how many times did you re-torque the bolts. On my aluminum intake, it took 3 times before they seemed to stay tight.

    5.0L + Top Loader?

I have a 66 & 68 with a 5.0l and toploader. I have the oem bellhousing on the 66, and a Lakewood scattershield on the 68; oem style linkage on both, and use a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch (pn DF490030) and Centerforce Throwout (pn N 1439) on both. They both work great with no problems.

V6 vs. V8 Drum Brake Spindles

You probably won't find many kits that come with a power booster. Most power boosters won't fit the 65/66 due to the shock towers. There are "mini" boosters out there, but I haven't heard much feedback about them.

    Point A to Point B

As you said, since you're doing the suspension anyway and have to rebuild the motor, I see no reason not to do the swap.

    Keep her original or modify?

Dropping a V8 in it will only increase the value. No matter how much you have spent, how great it looks, a 6 clyinder coupe is the lowest thing on the totem pole. Everything you're talking about i the conversion can be changed back to original if for some reason 6 cyl coupes become a valuable...
