    What are your plans for the car? Local driving, highway driving, open track drag racing? I have both the Wilwood and the Baers on 66's with standard spindles. I like them both. The Baers are more expensive but a direct bolt on with little fuss and stop much better IMHO than the Wilwoods...

    Cure(s) for soft brake pedal needed

    I've replaced the brake systems in 3 66's and have never found an inline valve of any kind. I have the distribution block up front in the fender apron and the distribution block on the alxe tube in back, but nothing in between.

    Are you talking I6 or V8 coupe? You could do the shelby drop and gain about 1/2 inch. Cost you nothing but a little time and an alignment.

    I'd say 225# give or take a couple. I have a bare 289 block, that weighs in at just over 140#. You figuring the cam in there also?

    Your 65 has 2 more vins underneath the fenders on each side. I wouldn't get extremely worried unless those numbers were different also.

    What size bolts for headers on 289

    I use the Stage 8's, but it depends on the flange of the header. On my thick flanged JBA's I needed IIRC 1 1/2 to 1 5/8 inch long bolts vs the 1 1/4 inch for the Tri Y's on another.

    I agree with Dark Knights assessment. Unbolt from the rear and slide in, you should have between 1/2 to 1 inch of slide in room. If you have more than 1 inch IIRC that's too much. If you're ok there, you're loosing the seal.

    That's an open ended question without knowing the rest of your components. (ie heads, intake, carb, exhaust)

    Where should I mount my MSD 6AL????

    Mine is mounted on the inside firewall up behind the heater plenum. Pita to wire the tach and to change RPM module. I would not put it there again. (Although it it hidden very well)

    When you had it rebuild, did they replace the crank from a 28 to 50 oz imbalance. As stated they make a different balance with the 3 hole and 4 hole already drilled. Ot you could send your original damper to Damper Doctor and get it refurbished.

    There's no use buying a new 5.0/302 and then converting/stroking it--- you've just doubled the cost. Either buy a good 302/5.0 block and stroke it, buy a stroked crate motor or rebuild/stroke the 289.
