1999 Mustang GT - possible vacuum leak?

I have never had any luck with this..if anything cleaning it makes it worse. You can give it a try but it is nothing more than a temp fix. These cars are really reliable and what we talked about (intake manifold & IAC) are the two most common trouble spots.

1999 Mustang GT - possible vacuum leak?

Hey Adam, Don't stress over the intake deal. If it hasn't cracked yet it probably won't for a while. I live in Davenport, Iowa and mine has held up to all the weather fluctuations. If you notice your rpm's dropping significantly when coming to a stop with the clutch in or shifter in nuetral than...

How much would you pay for this?

+1 Your kbb value should fall between the fair and poor condition. I am not saying it isn't a nice looking car but right now it is as useful as a boat on land. If I was you I would ask $2.3k and hope for someone to offer $1.5-2k. Replacing the head gasket is very labor intensive so that...

short trow shifter Q? need your imput.....

I have seen tons of similar threads on all types of mustang forums and the general consensus is always: #1 Mgw #2 Steeda #3 Pro 5.0 I love my Steeda, it is a billion times better than stock. Wish I had the $ to try a Mgw but I am plenty contempt with mine. I have driven with a hurst and it...

    How important are cv boots/joints?

That is exactly what I need. Do you know where I can find the pre slit boots that you fasten together? Also can I just pack it with white lithium grease or is there some special lubricant to use?

    How important are cv boots/joints?

So my other vehicle is a 94' Nissan 4x4 pickup. It has about 154k miles and is defiantly not pretty. It runs great but I noticed that one of the cv boots is ripped. Knowing how often the previous owner off roaded it I am sure that it has been ripped for awhile. My question is; do I really need...

X pipe, H pipe or neither?

A uncatted X or H pipe will yield you more hp than a cat-back. Of course combining the two is best. Realistically you should be able to get an extra 10-15hp at the crank with a X or H pipe.

    T-45 Vs TR-3650

umm where did you read about 3650's breaking?? I would trade my t-45 in for a 3650 in a heartbeat. Reliability and strength t-5<t-45<t-3650<t-56 Unless you are planning on forced induction and or lots of passes at the track a t-45 or 3650 will be plenty sufficient.

    3650 problems

Are you positive that you pushed the shifter all the way in?? I have had that happen to me before where I put it about 9/10ths the way in but it didn't engage. I wouldn't think anything about it unless it happens again. 3650's are pretty rock solid.

    Octane

Mine loves 89. If you wanted to save alittle $$, 87 is fine for a near stock car. 91 may be alittle bit overkill. Remeber all octane ratings mean is how much the fuel can be compressed before igniting, 91 and > fuel is only needed for higher compression engines. Where I live 89 is cheaper...
