main cap bolts 15 bux each ?

From Ford ya that sounds about right. We don't sell a lot of those, don't do rebuilds at the dealer due to our high labor rate and better warranty on reman engines.

    rear main seal housing

Ford uses silicone in place of a gasket.

    Any Particular Gas Fellas?

I use Shell 87 octane in the Mustang. I saw nothing that says premium required, unlike my Volvo that requires it due to the high pressure turbo. As far as why Shell, I have a Shell card and it is on my way home from work. Plus I like supporting Dutch companies for some weird reason.

    Rear Bearing Nut Size

Which nut are you talking about? On these year mustangs you take apart the rear brakes down to taking the rotors off. Then you take off the diff cover, the bolt holding the pin in the diff center section. Then you take the pin out, pull the c-clips and pull the axles out. At that point you...

Brakes Putting On 2000 Cobra R Brakes This Weekend

Right now I just have the adapters on. I was planning on sending the foglights to the round file cabinet and running the hoses to the front bumper area.

Brakes Putting On 2000 Cobra R Brakes This Weekend

Finally got it done, realized I forgot to take pics of the cooling ducts, so I'll post when I put them on my 98, same setup except the funky part of the 95 upright for the tie-rod. The 98 had ARP wheel studs all around, will get around to doing that when I swap the 98 uprights onto the 95.

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

I don't get it honestly. The links I posted were made by the people who MAKE the oil, I would hope they have a higher knowledge of their product than us lowly consumers. Well technically they don't make the oil, they refine crude and add an additive pack, usually from Lubrizoil or another...

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

Not saying that at all. 10w30 is thinner both when cold, 10w vs 20w and at operating temperatures 30 vs 50.

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

Bobistheoilguy.com is an outstanding resource for oil related information. They have an extremely well written oil information section that might be worth reading. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/motor-oil-101/

Brakes Putting On 2000 Cobra R Brakes This Weekend

Finally got the motivation to put my 2000 Cobra R calipers on my 95 GT this weekend. They were on my 98 GT and I was able to salvage them after the accident, along with a ton of Maximum Motorsports parts. Forgot to snag some pics, but I will tomorrow. So far the drivers side is stripped and I...

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

I don't use Amsoil products in my cars, but they give a really good explanation in simple terms of how multi viscosity oils work. http://www.upmpg.com/tech_articles/motoroil_viscosity/
  13. B

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

No what I am saying is that the multi viscosity ratings of modern oil lists the viscosity of 0 degrees C as the first number. Think about it, Ford uses 5W20 in the majority of their newer engines, they do it because it is thinner at operating temps and therefore they get a higher CAFE rating...

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

Whoever gave you that information is sorely mistaken. 5W30 and 10W30 in a same brand will have the same viscosity at operating temperatures, but the 5W30 will have less resistance to flow when cold as opposed to 10W30. Now certain brands of oil will have different thicknesses within a...
  15. B

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

No the first number is Winter. You want thin oil when cold to get it up to the valve train, then thicken up at operating temperatures.
  16. B

    5w30 Instead Of 10w30 Oil Weight ?

The only difference between 5w30 and 10w30 of the same brand will be the viscosity when cold. The "W" designation stands for "Winter." At operating temp there will be no difference.

    Replace key case?

Negative. They key in the IKT style key is a different attaching blade design compared to the jewel key your car has.

Where to Buy Gas Tank Seal & Valve Assembly

Numbers on Ford parts will not match the number on the box. Ford puts what is known as an "engineering number" on the parts to indicate what division of the Company the part is from. The service part numbers will always be different, plus there are parts updates to improve performance or...

    halo headlight replacement

Define life of the car. To some people that is 50k miles. Seriously if I were you I would get either OEM or OEM reproduction headlights and get rid of the projector style lights. My DD has HIDs stock and they have burned out, and we are talking a high quality German designed system.

    halo headlight replacement

Ford does that on some cars. I have a customer with 2 GT Supercars that buys headlight housings a couple times a year at about $1500 a pop.
